Hey
Thought I would share my wait with everyone.
Applied as FTB via broker for mortgage with Bank of Ireland.
Documents all submitted via broker to BOI on Wednesday last week.
Valuation was conducted Thursday with the report in my hands Friday. No problems what I could see.
Now waiting for for the results from BOI. Broker informed today that they only look at cases once they have all the information.
Was hoping to hear today but no such luck. The waiting is killing me now!
Fingers crossed for some update tomorrow0 -
Can I join please..
We seem to have had the longest wait ever.
Jan 24th reserved property new build and first time buyers. Mortgage agreed in principle by Halifax.. three weeks later declined
Feb 24th application to TSB after agreement in principle
March 29th agreed subject to valuation
April 13th valuation done (back log in this area)
Now awaiting offer after a computer glitch and problem with the format of the valuation even though it was fine.
Fingers crossed offer in next 24 hours!!!0 -
I'm in the very early stages but I've had a DIP accepted with Nationwide on Friday 21st April.
We are viewing a house today, so all going well will be putting an offer in. I'm extremely nervous about it all.0 -
06/02 - DIP done through broker
24/02 - Viewed new house and offered
28/02 - Offer accepted
03/03 - Full application with Natwest sent via broker.
07/03 - Valuation booked for 8th
08/03 - Valuation
11/03 - Full mortgage offer received thru the post.
20/04 - Got the keys...
Mortgage with Natwest didnt have any issues at all.. the online tracker is a massive help. Good luck to everyone.0 -
We submitted our HTB Scotland application via the mortgage broker on 11/04.
Two weeks later (granted there was a long weekend) and we've still heard nothing. So frustrating!
Does it usually take this long?0 -
Here is our timeline so far
DIP from nationwide 18/4 ( we also have help to buy isa with them)
Offer on house accepted on 18/4
Appointment made for the 26/4 for full application
So excited as we love the house but nervous for full application , worrying i have made mistakes already :eek:0 -

Hello guys!!
Finally with regards to the mortgage, suspense is over. We were informed by our mortgage adviser today that the offer has been posted by the lender and should be with us soon.
Here is my timeline
- March 13th 2017: Agreement in Principle (Principality Building Society)
- April 1st 2017: Offer accepted on the house
- April 5th 2017: Full application made through a broker. Money for valuation deducted from the account
- April 10th 2017: In queue for the documentation to be assessed and would be done by end of day tomorrow. We will have an update if anything else is required.
- April 13th 2017: Valuation/House Survey Booked!
- April 13th 2017: Report received. Homebuyer report to us. Valuation exactly same as our offered price.
- April 19th 2017: Heard back from the lender. They require two more documents from us. Upon receipt they would be happy to proceed with the "mortgage offer". Yeyyyy fingers crossed still!! though
- April 25th 2017: Got confirmation from the mortgage adviser about offer being sent. YEYYYY :-)
- April 28th 2017: Received the documents in the post! (Name title printed incorrectly. They will resend it)
- April 29th 2017: Received the documents in the post with correct name !!
Still long way to go after that I suppose with the legal procedures! But glad one hurdle is crossed. Waiting to read about the offer!
All the best you guys! Don't worry its going to be alright :-)Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!

Hi all,
Thought I would share my experience as a FTB.
07/04 - Offer accepted on house
07/04 - Spoke to L&C on the phone
10/04 - Sent L&C documents including bank statements, payslips and credit reports
12/04 - Applied for a mortgage with TSB through L&C
24/04 - Valuation took place
25/04 - Mortgage offer received
Process was really painless with L&C and a lot quicker than I anticipated given the fact there was 2 bank holidays in there. L&C collected all our information early on including 1 months of bank statements, latest payslips and credit reports.
Good luck to everyone else applying and if you have late payments or anything you might think might hinder your chances I would recommend using a broker as takes so much stress out of it.0
