Hi, I thought I'd add to the thread!

I'm a FTB going in for my first house. My timeline has been like this:

    DIP Accepted - 4/4
    Offer Accepted - 26/4
    Mortgage Interview - 28/4
Valuation booked and carried out - 2/5
Valuation returned to Nationwide - 3/5

Still officially waiting for my offer, but i spoke to Nationwide today and was told it's to be drawn up tomorrow (5/5) and I should have it Monday at the latest.

Can't believe that's it! Touch wood nothing drastic happens between now and then but hopefully that's me all good now!

I think i've been very lucky with a very quick turnaround (just over a week from closing date to mortgage offer).

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear!

    Still waiting here......

application sent to Santander on 21st April. I know it was with the underwriters last Friday and they requested a letter from Child Benefit confirming how much we get.
Still awaiting that letter from DWP.......
  • Hi everyone. We are waiting too - this is second time in 3 months for us after the seller pulled out of a previous sale. Don't think I can take many more sleepless nights! Our timeline so far (Nationwide)

25/04/17 - offer made and accepted
26/04/17 - full application in via broker
28/04/17 - additional paycheques sent for me as proof of overtime
01/05/17 - bank statement provided showing Child benefit (again)
02/05/17 - text saying valuation survey arranged
03/05/17 - valuation survey takes place
05/05/17 - text saying valuation report has been reviewed and accepted

That last text from today is one we didn't get last time round, but it was a week from them receiving the report to issuing an offer so fingers crossed we have no more than that to go.

Presumably the text wouldn't have started with 'good news' if the survey report had downvalued the property?!?

My full application went via MA on Tuesday (May 2nd). Now on Santander website the update is

We're reviewing applications sent to our underwriters on 2 May

    What's happening after this?

Just wanted to start my 'awaiting an offer' post. I'm an existing Nationwide mortgage customer who's moving house and hence porting the mortgage and borrowing more. I'd spoken to Nationwide a week or two ago to get a general DIP/idea of how much I could borrow, but since we've actually found a property to buy, the timelines thus far are:

Tuesday 2nd May - rang up to get final DIP against the property we'd bought and book an appointment
Thursday 4th May - had our mortgage appointment and all went well (albeit took almost 3 hours!)
Friday 5th May - received a text/email to say that a valuation had been booked for Monday 8th May, and a separate email to say they have all the documents they require for now.

    Hi Everyone

I posted this somewhere on main mortgage forum but actually should have put it here.

First time buyers, Just wondered if anyone has any experience with TSB mortgage process. Bank statements, wage slips and proof of deposit and ID's given. Valuation fee taken from bank yesterday and estate agent rang today to say valuation will take place on Tuesday. I guess I'm after some reassurance. Is it a good sign that valuation is going ahead or is it a case of valuation then will look at application and decide weather to approve it.

    Anyway timeline so far is:
    12/04 - Viewed property £92000
    18/04 - L&C brokers DIP 95%
    19/04 - second viewing
20/04 - offer made & rejected £89000 (as they reduced it by £10k 2 months ago)
    22/04 - second offer made £90000
    23/04 - offer accepted
28/04 - spoke with broker & decided on TSB
29/04 - documents sent to broker, wageslips, bank statements etc
02/05 - some docs resent as couldn't be read
04/05 - money taken from account for valuation £275
05/05 - estate agent rang to confirm valuation is on Tuesday (9th)

    Good luck to everyone :)

    Thanks guys

    FTB HERE VERY NERVOUS!

so I'll start with a bit of background, rented for 5 years in laws have offered to gift us deposit to buy house across road
28/4 - viewed house made offer (knew roughly what we could borrow from previous mortgage in principal that was no longer valid, ran out)
29/4 offer accepted - then bank holiday
2/5 broker got us mortgage in principal again, sent to estate agents
3/5 broker came collected all sheets of wage slips bank statements etc to send over to lenders.
4/5 by noon full order submitted, sold board went up on the house!

So now am just waiting for application to be accepted, through accord, had good rate, and scrapped evaluation fee, broker advised this worked out best deal long run,
Looked up accord over weekend and they have pretty shocking reviews, but then if ppl moan they always submit a review, ppl who have no problem tend to not say anything. Their website says average of 9 days for full apps. I'm so nervous 3 days in!!!

Anybody else in the same boat?

Just had a text from Nationwide 'We're pleased to let you know we've issued a mortgage offer. Please make sure you read the offer carefully'

I'm sorry I'm being slightly stupid but this does mean we've been accepted for a mortgage doesn't it???
