Got our mortgage approved today from Nationwide. Valuation was yesterday and application on Saturday. Over the moon!
Now just wondering realistically when we can complete. Hopefully soon as the seller is a property developer, so not living in the house.0 -

These applications feel like torture!
We applied via broker to Platform 3 weeks ago now, annoyingly they instructed a valuation within 48hrs but took two weeks for their designated surveyor to be available so that was done justt this past Tuesday.
They now have the report back and confident to give a decision on Monday having not required any further documents from the initial application - need to put the champers back in the fridge again for another weekend
Fingers crossed!0 -
App with Natwest.
App was made via a broker so had a AIP with hard search before full app.
Full App made (with docs) 11/11, follow up searches on Equifax appeared 12/11.
Survey was instructed by Natwest on 17/11 - and has been arranged with Estate Agent.
I have read that Natwest do their 'underwriting' by that I mean confirm they are happy with bank statements, pay slips etc prior to to instructing the survey. Is still the case?0 -
It's great to hear lots of success stories on here which is encouraging!
I have DIP from Nationwide, just waiting for authority to proceed from HTB before submitting full app.
My main concern at the moment is that I had 2.8k credit card debt (interest free), I decided to clear this before proceeding, but Nationwide have only asked for most recent bank statement which now looks awful because my outgoings are loads more than income due to clearing this card. Has anyone on here had similar problems? Anything I can do before submitting the full app? Hoping it will maybe just take a bit of explaining and perhaps showing last 6 months statements?0 -
We have submitted the full application to Halifax today.
They took the fee for a Valuation and our MA advised that the mortgage has been accept subject to valuation.
Will halifax now run more checks? or are we nearly over the hurdle of mortgage application.?!0 -
We had our mortgage offer in the post on Saturday - really quick turnaround, very pleased!!0
