  • Can i join in please , me and Husband are awating a decision for our first mortgage to buy our council home. Our application is principle was accepted by Skipton on Oct 14th. We put in our full application on 31st October and today we have had a call to arrange a valuation which is being done on the 14th. According to Skiptons timeline of events a valuation is arranged after being underwritten so do you think this means its good news, really hope so.
  • 1st property mortgage accepted - we pulled out after being messed about by sellers.

    2nd property application

    * Change of property details submitted - 21/10/2016
    * Valuation fee paid - 25/10/2016
    * Approved - subject to valuation
    * Valuation booked for 01/11/2016

    * Mortgage approved 02/11/2016

    Yes..definitely. They were just as fast with the first house we were going to purchase. We have a few historic credit blips too...so happy we managed to get a high street lender at 1.8%.

    All down to a knowledgeable broker.
  • I sent my last 3 payslips to HSBC as requested on 17/10/16, and had them returned to me with covering letter of thanks a few days later.

    I've just nipped home to check my post, only to find a letter from HSBC dated 31/10/16, asking me for... yes, you guessed it, my last 3 payslips. :mad:
  • Think I can finally post in here :)

    We are applying with nationwide through a broker and are FTB's using HTB.

    24.10 text to say full application received.
    28.10 text to confirm valuation booked for 31/10
    2.10 two texts to confirm that valuation had been received, reviewed and accepted.

    Now just waiting for the mortgage to pass final checks (whatever they consist of, she couldn't seem to be able to tell me) according to my broker, this is due to be allocated to an underwriter by the close of play tomorrow at the latest and fingers crossed we'll have our offer ☺️

    I would like to join please. Having a horrible time with the experience. Second time buyer and first time went swimmingly. This time trying to buy a house thats under probate so all decisions take days instead of yes or no on the phone. Secondly mortgage was rejected because of a late payment of £3 which we wasnt aware of and out of our control but thats been sorted and removed from my wifes credit file (id mobile admitted the account was closed in feb but the charge put on in may) but the mortgage has to be referred now to halifax to make a decision which wont be back till tuesday (did it yesterday). To make things worst i was able to get the mortgage on my own in the first place but because of all the searches the advisor is reluctant to do another search now in my name. Ahhhh!!
  • Well that was quick :)

    Text received at 15:34 today; Hi, Nationwide here. We're pleased to let you know we've issued a mortgage offer. Please make sure you read the offer carefully.

    Hopefully it's for the full amount :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone!

    Glad yours is proceeding quicker than our Lizbragg! I'm getting slightly worried that everyone else is getting updates quicker with Natwest, I'm a catastrophiser so convince myself of the worst, mortgage applications are not good for my stress!

    Bit of an update:

    02/11/16 - More payslips requested from Natwest
    03/11/16 - Authority to Proceed from H2B

    Our brokers are very slow to respond to anything (haven't had one email reply from them at all), which is not good for a control freak like myself! I'd have been happy to apply direct so I could have chased myself but was advised that wasn't possible due to the H2B form being too complicated :mad:
    Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭
