  • Valuation done Friday and survey was being emailed over Friday Night

Today Tuesday, told valuation takes up to 3 days to be assessed

Feels so slow compared to other people on this forum
  • Hi

I'm just wondering has anyone got a rough idea of Halifax timescales. Valuation has been done and two searches by Halifax on my credit file, one says mortgage application the other, first time mortgage.

Last week they asked for a letter from employer explaining a £1 discrepancy between payslip and bank statement. Payslip stated £1733.34 but I received £1734.33, basically done to an admin error by our administrator.

Me nor the broker have not heard anything since letter went in last Thursday. Just wondering has anyone had a recent experience?

    Thanks
  • Hi,

I have applied for shared equity mortgage through NatWest

    28/10 - viewed house
01/11 - spoke to mortgage advisor
    02/11 - AIP filled in
    03/11 - AIP approved
21/11 - NatWest taken Valuation fee
    24/11 - Survey Carried out

does anyone know do the underwriters go through application before agreeing to survey? im just wondering now that its gone to survey if I have anything to worry about?

I was told by our broker that Natwest changed policy this year and now schedule valuation as soon as the app goes in, but if you fail on affordability etc you get a refund of valuation fee. Hope that helps!

  • General Question

Do others have to prompt their broker for an update or do they come back to you with bits of information

Ours I feel if we do drop an email we are forgotten?

    Hi there,

Personally, we have had a combination of both- the broker has always responded to either hubbie or myself via phone call/email if we have been unable to contact him by phone. We have also had updates from a customer care advisor (working for the same mortgage company as the broker) once full application was submitted who kept us informed as to when she would be speaking to the Lender to touch base etc.

The last contact with the lender, they were told that they were just waiting on survey results, so they did not ask for any extra information, which I'm not sure is good or bad, if it is good-I convince myself it is bad in some way or another. Our survey is today, so am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for us!

    Thanks Clumsy

Looks like we will now be waiting till Monday, honestly this is killing me
  • My process:

    26/09/16 AIP from HSBC
    12/11/16 Offer accepted
18/11/16 Loan application denied by HSBC
    22/11/16 AIP from Halifax ( through a broker )
22/11/16 Valuation fee deducted and booked.
25/11/16 More documents required from Halifax
    30/11/16 Evaluation carried out
01/12/16 Full loan offer received ( through broker )

My mistake was to apply loan directly from HSBC without checking their specific conditions. After rejected, I still kept ringing a couple of other lenders, no results.. almost gave it up out of frustration...broker is always recommended if the case is slightly complicated...I'm very surprised how little those staff knew about their own policy from the call center.

Thanks everyone here sharing their experiences and good luck to you all!
