For my lifestyle (I travel for work) the fact I didn't need face-to-face or any long interviews on the phone was beneficial.0 -
Slowly losing the will to live.
12 wks ago remortgage application was put in. We were told would have a decision weds, this has now been amended to next weds. (Releasing funds on rental to aid new purchase)
Had a mortgage approved on a house that fell through, found new house, just need to update details and arrange new survey and it's now day 15 since that was put in. I'm more than a little fed up at this point! :mad:0 -

Hi all,
FTB.
Waiting nervously for a final answer on our mortgage with the Halifax.
AIP given in April, offer accepted end of June , valuation done, last week, application went in yesterday.....
Worried sick.....
Anyone else in the same position right now?
I am currently in the same position as yourself. My mortgage application was submitted via a Broker to Halifax last week. We have passed affordability and our bank statements have been reviewed however out application is now with an underwriter as there are some questions around my credit rating. So nervous and stressed! Has anyone else got a mortgage offer with Halifax with bad credit?:jFinally going to be a homeowner:T0 -
Hi there,
Hope you don't but thought I would join in the anxious waiting group.
My girlfriend and I are hoping to purchase a new build property just outside Edinburgh. So far our progress has been the following:
28/08 - Found property we would like to buy
28/08 - Spoke with FirstMortgage and obtained a AIP via Halifax
06/09 - 95 LTV Mortgage application with the Halifax sent in (roughly 56% of what the AIP value)
06/09 - Valuation fee taken
08/09 - Valuation carried out
Now the wait begins.
Mortgage advisor seemed very confident everything would go smoothly as neither of us have had any late payments or defaults. I have a balance on my credit card which I will clear this month, and my girlfriend had a personal loan which will be cleared by next month,
Only slight niggle was caused by me slipping into my agreed overdraft in July due to a late payment being received and being on holiday at the time so couldn't do much about it, once payment was received I was clear and remained clear since so our mortgage advisor didn't think it would be any issue, but with being a FTB its something to worry about until an offer is received.
Hopefully in the next few days to a week we will hear some news0 -
Joining as a break from refreshing my email every 2 minutes waiting for an update.
We're currently shared owners but awaiting a mortgage decision from Nationwide so we can hopefully staircase up to the full 100% ownership, which makes our situation slightly different from a lot of others in that we're already living in the flat we're waiting for a mortgage on...
Everything has moved very quickly so far just waiting for the final piece now!
5/9: Full application submitted (through online broker Trussle)
6/9: Valuation booked
7/9: Confirmation of approved documents, offer pending valuation report
9/9: Valuation took place
12/9: Broker has told me they're expecting valuation report update today, should be last step...?
Impatience is getting the better of me!0 -
Our sellers are not able to accomodate the valuation until the 3rd October (at least).....3 weeks from today. Argh...so frustrating.0

This drives me insane, you are selling your house, make yourself available for things like this. 3 weeks is a ridiculous time to wait. I really feel for you.
Still waiting for our lender to pull their finger out and book the valuation. We paid for the home buyers friday lunchtime and still they haven't booked anything in. As for the remortgage, was told credit scoring would be done today (last stage with this lender) ive been watching experian all day and nothing has happened. I'm going to be bald by the end of this.0
