I am back!
So after Natwest rejected our application, we appointed a broker. He found us a deal with halifax and confirmed 'they are happy to give you a mortgage' after credit scoring, but needed 10% deposit rather than the 5% we had. I guess this is due to my default.
After being very stressed for a week, and almost giving up, we have very luckily had some help from family to help us meet the 10%. Broker said last night he will push the paperwork through today and should get the valuation booked in this week.
It's been quite a long process so far (4 weeks) - should I be worried that the people we are buying from will get annoyed?0 -

I wouldn't be too concerned if we were the sellers. Our buyers have not had a survey done on our property yet (chased yesterday) and its been 4 weeks today since we accepted the offer.
I guess it depends who they are going with. Natwest have been exceptionally fast in getting to the valuation.0 -
Ha...are we buying your house! Ok that's made me feel a little better. I am just very impatient, although I know these things all take time.
Our broker gets in to the office at 11.30am so I shall sit and refresh my emails then. This first time buying thing is a real rollercoaster of emotions!0 -
May as well start my own for Santander (direct app done online).
6th Sept: Offer accepted
7th Sept: AIP received / Application information sent & received0 -

Good Luck! I'm sure it will all be okay. I find the lack of control over everything quite difficult to deal with but I have suprised myself up to now (althought that may quickly change)
It will be soooo worth it to spend Christmas in our new home. Eeek....0 -

Our buyers home buyers report is back
Loft lining torn a little, may cause damp
Couldn't find an internal stop !!!! (didn't look very hard apparently)
No elec certificate -despite my leaving it on the side and saying to him here is the elec cert
No gas cert - left BG cert to say boiler serviced and full checks all perfect
Couldn't check drains
Waste water was using a mix of pvc and non pvc piping.
All very minor but the buyers were viciously wants to check. I'd be well peeved if I was him as half this stuff was there.0 -
Just got a text from the broker saying the valuation is booked in for 14th September - that's a positive sign right?!0
