    Hi All,
We received our mortgage offer on Friday, exactly two weeks after full application.
Virgin Money have been excellent to deal with.

I'm feeling quite calm at the moment. Rather strange. Keeping busy in work which helps a lot.

I have been watching the tracker with Natwest but our application was put in last Tuesday and only now it is saying that they are looking at our wage slips, so I dont depend on that too much.

May I ask, have they done the survey/valuation on the property you are purchasing yet?

    Hello, can someone help pls.

    Our remortgage BTL was declined buy the underwriters based on the following facts;

    · We have concerns over the applicants stability of income, and that they would not have sufficient income to support any rental voids.
    · We also have concerns over the intended use of the property. The applicants have no other buy to let mortgages and would not have sufficient income to cover a residential mortgage. The property is also similar size to where they are currently renting.

We have now shown savings of £34k and advised we live mortgage free with our dad. We have appealed on this basis.

Can some please advise if we stand a chance of the decline being reversed and our buy to let remortgage being approved.

    I'm pulling my hair out

  • Been told by MB that I can't chase Nationwide until 3 working days after each correspondence as this is the 'Standard waiting time'.

I smell a '!!!!!! off, stop hassling us' attitude.

Unsure if this is normal or just because I'm using a free and new broker company.

That doesn't sound right to me! There's no harm in a quick call to NW to check for any updates... not like it'll jeopardise your application. Sounds like a porkie to me. I've been calling my bank for updates whenever I've felt it necessary as I've been unhappy with the correspondence from my MB and they've always been more than happy to help.

Sorry for the late reply. Laptop has died on me and I'm not too great using my phone with this forum because of the blinking autocorrect.

I was told today that mortgage has been agreed subject to satisfactory valuation. Yay! They immediately contacted our EA to begin the process. Fee was taken immediately on application but looks like they only instruct it once the application has been assessed.

That's great news for you. Fingers crossed for a quick and successful valuation/survey.

I found out from my EA that out buyer is with NatWest so I am really being nosey on their process. We had the home buyers survey person round yesterday for them so hopefully that's a good sign.

I'm just about losing the will to live on mine. Out of everyone in our chain our mortgage should have been the simplest as we have the approval from underwriting for the amount we need (previous house fell through) we just need to get the survey done for offer. Two weeks we've been waiting now. I'm slowly going out of my mind
