Forgot to send our Help to Buy application despite telling us they had an automated response. Our initial documents were all provided by us last Monday, but she sent them across to Natwest in a file that was apparently too big, then went on holiday!
Been chasing for an update since Friday and still no reply to emails or calls, according to tracking site (I know it isn't that reliable) Natwest are still waiting for payslips we gave broker last Monday.
You submitted just after us, so I will let you know when/if we hear anything!
Broker doesn't sound great to be honest. Are they charging you? I think I've emailed my broker every day for the past 2 weeks and always had a reply...it's such a stressful thing to do...a little bit of "hand holding" really helps matters. Even I know that too many attachments in emails/files can cause issues.
I hope they are quick to get back to you. Let me know how you get on and I'll keep everything crossed for us both. :T0 -

I have no idea what to do... I'll just wait for the accounts to come through and see what they say. I mean we're laying 15% down. unfortunately as you might have read that we're unable to go through a highstreet lender... at all, they're just not playing ball with us... even though the MA thought he could get them to DIP for us - it just doesn't work, even with the halifax..
I'm so confused and so is my wife... we're FTB, we so want to get on the ladder as soon as possible but we're just confused!![STRIKE]1/12/16 - £152,599.00 [/STRIKE]

First time Buyer, will be using the HTB equity loan. I don't have the best credit history - one Default just over two years ago for £99 (paid in settled in full within the month) I also have a series of late payments (no more than a 2 status) on CC's and a few on an unsecured loan (which are over two years ago) - complete stupidity on my part, absolutely no reason or excuse for them. My partners history is great (but also, can be seen as a downside due to very little credit activity)
I had a late payment on my credit card in June of 2015 so when we applied for a mortgage 6 months ago, we didn't even get DIP'd. Fast Forward to now:
24/08/16 - Found a new build house £325,000
24/08/16 - phoned broker, gave details and got an accept with woolwich, with 27% deposit.
01/09/16 - Will be Reserving the house.
I feel like this is a bit of a punt, as my credit file is not perfect; but I have spent the last year trying to sort a lot of the issues out, so it would be great if it paid off so soon (even if they come back with a higher interest rate)
We've been renting for the last three years - currently £1,000 p/m. the Mortgage would be approx £800 p/m if we got a half decent rate so........ fingers crossed0 -
FTB, 5% w/ Nationwide. House £80k (Moving up north was a smart idea after all!).
Trying the new online broker Habito. Promised to be fully online but the system is buggy, one 10 min phone call and all by email so far. All very easy to deal with. I knew the two best mortgages for me before I contacted and they agreed (I'm an avid researcher), and tossed up before settling on nationwide (Less initial outlay than Halifax, but lower cashback - a trade off but preferred the terms).
Couldn't fault ease of service so far - can message advisor on a chat system which is answered swiftly in person.
Application Submitted - 23rd Aug
Valuation - 27th Aug
Report + Value - 30th Aug (Using countrywide, no complaints apart from not issuing the T+C's, holding up release of docs - fast turnaround for a Bank Hols)
Valuation accepted by bank immediately.
Nothing heard since, MA said they will update once Nationwide tell them anything.
Credit History is good, few C Cards utilised about 1/3 on interest-free paying off car insurance and phone (saving to me over other finance options). Few defaults were issued and quickly wiped when I changed bank and a CC repayment didn't change properly.
House worth about 2 x salary and should be in the 'easily affordable' bracket (assuming they don't look at my spending on holiday last month - oops).
MA couldn't advise typical turnarounds for nationwide.
Fingers crossed - I've swept ikea and have my list and a rugby team to help carry it all.0 -
I'm so disraught right now, literally in a flood of tears. Our broker who decided to go on holiday for 2 weeks without informing us left someone else in charge of our application and now THAT person is away from the office today! I called the Halifax up myself to see for any updates and turns out they've requested more documents (p60s I've already sent the broker, bank statements they already have) for income verification DESPITE the fact that they've already verified income from the hmrc!!! And once they have these docs, its back to the credit decisioning team. I can't send these documents myself to the Halifax, only the broker can. And Lord knows where my broker has gone. We're 3.5 weeks into our application and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel
:( so thoroughly disappointed with my broker and the Halifax. Valuation is taking place today, so I supposed that's a good thing. Broker instructed it last Fri so I thought that meant that our offer is now subject to valuation, but now I know he just pushed to book it in before his holiday and for no real benefit of my own. Now I am scared that due to my brokers incompetency we may be rejected and will lose the valuation fee.
Hoping the guy he left in charge is in tomorrow so he can upload the p60s ASAP. It's going to be a hella long weekend....0 -
That's not good news at all! Was hoping I would check this post and it would have been all sorted for you! Stay positive though! It's definitely worth getting a structural survey/building survey anyway - we just received ours back and all fine luckily! Now just waiting for the solicitor to sort everything else out. Research on google some local surveyors rather than broker recommendation. We found ours on reallymoving.com and they were really good - happy with the report and wasn't too expensive for the survey! If you need any help, let me know or DM me! Got my fingers crossed for you and hope it all goes okay!
How are you getting on?
So full survey was done last Tuesday, which the surveyor agreed the issues were historic, he did pick out a couple of issues which needed attention but that he said would probably give nationwide a reason to withhold a portion of the money until it was sorted.
Thankfully by Tuesda (bank holiday:mad:) nationwide had agreed to loan us the full amount we were asking for, and were sending a final evaluation into advancement...and we would hear later that day...that didn't happen, and we didn't hear yesterday either...so back to work today and when I'm right in the middle of inset training....my phone rings (thank goodness for putting your phone on silent and a sympathetic deputy head!)
Anyway it's in the hands of the underwriters who say everything is fine, but because of the survey issue, it has to go to risk assessment people who have 25 hours to answer...so hopefully tomorrow we will hear something...but if it is tomorrow afternoon...that means I have to wait the weekend...and I can't really take Monday off of work to sort paper work because it's my first day teaching my new little lovelies...why does this always happen at inconvenient times?Lose 1st 7lb

If it makes you feel any better, I've had a mortgage once...and lost it because it lapsed...and there have been complications that weren't present the first time round...that's after waiting 19 months for said house!
So...in the grand scheme of things...3 and a half weeks....is nothing!Lose 1st 7lb

Wow.... was 19 weeks just for the mortgage? That does make my 3.5weeks look like childs play!
It's just extremely frustrating as I was told this would take 2 weeks by my clearly useless broker. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and was hoping to have the keys before baby comes. And if we will be rejected the mortgage, we need to arrange rented accommodation ASAP as we've been living with parents whilst saving for our deposit0
