Its awful waiting isnt it, precise i beileve arnt going to ask for anything else and its with underwriters now, our last documents were submitted last thursday and we were told the underwriters should of lookked todsy (thursday) how long should it be till we get a offer now? Im hoping tommorow!

23/08 Application Sent off
23/08 Credit Checks done on my account
25/08 Valuation fee taken


We were a bit foolish with money in our early 20's but have spent the last 2years paying things off, and saving as much as we could. We have just 1 CC left, small balance and 0%


I'm so proud of everything we have paid off and saved that I am stressing we will fall at the last hurdle!


Have been lurking on the forum saving money and paying off debt for the last 2 years! Appreciate everyone's help and advice!

Waiting for our mortgage offer seems like forever but in actual fact it's not been that long can anyone tell me how long an offer should be given once valuation had taken place? It was done early this week and I've not heard anything... I'm hoping no news is good news bank in question Natwest. Thanks in advance for help x

We've just had our offer from Natwest yesterday, exactly a week after the valuation, their trackers actually pretty good and accurate if you check it

What's a plausibility check?

Everything has come back ok. Mortgage advisor emailed to say:

All docs now signed off someone will do the plausibility check now (either today but most likely Tuesday) and then offer will be issued…

Is this it?

Are you going for a interest only Mortgage? if so its to check you will be able to repay the mortgage at the end of the interest only term.

So it's been 18 days since our application went in. Halifax asked for employer refs which took a week in the postie, but once we sent them off they processed and approved them yesterday within 24hrs of receipt. Our broker was holding the valuation back because he didn't want us to lose the valuation fee just in case the mortgage wasn't approved, but he has now instructed valuation which has been booked for Thursday. I'm hoping that the fact that he's gone ahead and instructed valuation means the paperwork has been approved and we've passed credit checks!! Any thoughts on this would be well appreciated!

Thursdays seems an age away now hmmmpphhh! I'm now 36 weeks pregnant and really battling the clock hoping to get the keys before baby makes an appearance!

Hi guys! Me and my fiancee are also applying for a mortgage in HSBC for a property worth 224k. We have £23k downpayment and LTV of 90%. We didn't go with a broker and did it ourselves. We went with HSBC as they have good rate however, I've been reading bad reviews in the past years which is a bit alarming. Anybody here with HSBC too? Here's my timeline so far:

We got no dependents, FTB, good credit, no loan/previous mortgages.

July 30 AIP given
Aug 6 Offer accepted
Aug 16 HSBC Mortgage Advice over the phone
Aug 17 Recommendation received, full credit check and decision obtained
Aug 25 Manual referral

What does manual referral mean?? Also, we couldn't get our valuation/survey done because they instruct their own surveyor which is a bummer. I'm really nervous with the waiting. Is there any way of asking/chasing the underwriter?
