Yayyyyy congrats!! Quick note - their fixed rates have dropped slightly so check if you are able to switch before completion (if you want!). It might only save £20-30 a month but works out a lot over the longer term! Re the survey: I would definitely ask for the report!

I've asked the sellers for the survey- they've gone quiet ( usually been quick at responding ) so I'm wondering if they think I'm trying to get more money off when I'm really not :(

On the side of the rate would this mean a new application or could they just change our product? I'm worried about asking the broker in case he BS me as he doesn't want the hassle?

Maybe they have just been busy - stay positive :) & it's just switching to a different product, takes five mins, not a new application :)

That is really awful. Did you go straight to the lender or via a broker? Is there no way around this?

Through a broker. He is looking into it for me, but not getting my hopes up as everything is going wrong for me at the moment :(

    UPDATE.
17/08 Text message received to say they have sent for the valuation to be instructed by Esurv.
Spoke to Esurv who said it will be carried out Monday/Tuesday.
Didn't expect to hear within a couple of hours :j

    UPDATE
18/08 Phoned Estate Agents To Check if Esurv have been in touch to be informed that they have been and done the survey today.
Then phoned Barclays to check how long it would take for them to receive the valuation to be told offer has been sent in the post today and they have faxed me a copy.

Application Submitted To Offer took 24 hours :j:j:T:T

Lenders have access to an income verification service through the HMRC if there is doubt.

Had really hoped this would be the case - but nope! Halifax requested employers references! Adding a jolly good week to my application :( so peeved off they've done this - couldn't they have asked last week when they asked for additional docs? They've sent a form off in the post and said I should get it by Tues/Wed. I've been getting a lot of pressure from our vendor to hurry up as they are starting work in a new city and need to leave ASAP. Plus I'm 35wks pregnant and would really appreciate getting this hooplah over and done with! Sigh

    04/08 Valuation booked for 10/08
05/08 Nationwide declined due to me putting down childcare costs lower than on my tax credit form, I haven't had my new award notice so they have to use the previous income and childcare costs shown on that. They said I needed to go in branch as a longer term was needed and i'd need advise
10/08 Valuation done and ok (yay)
19/08 Resubmitted in branch consultant thinks no issues now and should hear this week.

Great news dalo! Fingers crossed for you this time around. As if there isn't already enough stress involved rather than having to go back and forth like that !
  • UPDATE: So we went into the Natwest branch on Saturday to do our full application. Went through everything, keyed all the info, and just before the credit search their systems went down!!

Re-did everything twice. Same thing happened. We were in there for four hours. So disappointing and frustrating!!

We signed all the paperwork etc so the advisor can send off today if he can get the forms working again.
