  • Smiles here after 3days (working days, application submitted 28/7) my notification of my offer has come through Santander are super speedy, which is brilliant as I was a bit worried!

Just have the long wait for solicitors etc now!

    Update: Valuation booked for tomorrow!
Update 03/08: They have offered us less by £23,500 - almost 10% because of my boyfriend's overtime! Not too sure where we go from here as we can't afford another £23,500 deposit! We are trying to appeal the decision as they have lowered the overtime quite a lot - almost half of what I was expecting! Argh :( knew it was too good to be true & things were going too smoothly! We have no news re the valuation - this is just based on our affordability!

Has anyone else had to wait ages and then had a reduced offer? That's what happened to me and I'm now trying with another lender. I just hope my buyer doesn't get fed up of waiting!

So six weeks after putting an offer on the house, my broker has submitted another application :(

This happened to me today although we have not been waiting ages - only a week. No idea what to do next - hope our mortgage adviser sorts it otherwise we are going to have to pull out of the purchase which I really, really do not want to do!

    01.08.2016 DIP
01.08.2016 Sent application with Nationwide, all documents emailed.
Fingers crossed all sorted this month and i'll be £250 a month better off!

03.08.2016 All documents scanned and sent apart from letter from Ex about child maintenance arrangements.

Only thing that could scupper it now is valuation. zoopla estimate has dropped dramatically :(

Oh no, it's awful isn't it!

I'd been waiting about 4 or 5 weeks for the decision, valuation had been done and they'd agreed with the house price. My broker decided I should try another lender, so I'm now applying with Co-Operative (previously Skipton). The full application went in on Friday and today they have asked that I pay my SCS loan of £600 in full otherwise they are reducing the amount offered by £5000 !!! I've just paid this and have asked that my credit report be updated asap to show this. Hopefully they are quicker than Skipton at processing applications as I really can't cope with waiting weeks and weeks. My buyers wanted to be in here in July, they will be lucky to move in September the way things are going :(

    Good luck with the appeal!

Hi Steph, just wanted to ask, did they say your credit file would be updated asap? I phoned experian and asked if they could update my file because I had paid my debts off and they told me they only received information from companies every 4-6 weeks so could only update it when the info was sent :/ i paid off my debts beginning of july and still not updates on experian!

Oh no, that's too long to wait, I can't wait 4-6 weeks either :(

When I called to settle with SCS they said they usually update the credit reference agencies at the beginning or end of the month, but if it's for mortgage purposes they would email them as soon as the account was settled. I hope they weren't lying to me because if I've paid hundreds off and have to wait 4-6 weeks I don't think my buyers will wait possibly months for my mortgage offer to come through :( I've got a feeling I'm going to have to rent for a bit if that's the case.

I've had soooooo many issues with experian recently!! If you keep calling them they will eventually sort it - mine still says I'm not on the electoral roll even though I am! The debt is usually updated every month as far as I'm aware & searches updated daily. Just keep calling and say you will make a formal complaint if it isn't sorted immediately! I said if their report messes up my mortgage application I would write a formal complaint (had issues with electoral roll, address not being correct, debt showing three separate times - the list goes on!!)

So in my stressful time I thought I'd join the collective, in the hopes adding to this thread will bring me some comfort.

So applied to Nationwide through a mortgage broker.

    21/07 - DIP received
    26/07 - Mortgage Application submitted.
27/07 - Recieve confirmation Valuation is booked.
01/08 - Valuation takes place and confirmation it has been recieved.

Now we're just waiting as still no further update. The frustrating thing is our broker is away this week and I'm worried if they have requested any further documentation from us we won't know till next week possibly delaying the offer. Our sellers are eager to move (as always) and we don't want them getting impatient.

I have no finger nails left and my anxiety is high!
