Just to note, had a very smooth experience with Accord (brokered through L&C), I was wary as if you Google Accord you see stories of all kinds of pain, but they were absolutely fine, and when I had to deal with them on the phone due to them having problems contacting L&C they were very friendly and helpful. Application to offer in around 4 weeks (at least one week due to vender being unhelpful about access for valution survey). Only information requirements were one month bank statements, 3 months payslips and letter confirming maternity leave arrangements. No additional queries or questions, all good!0

Hi all,
Anxious times at the moment, we applied with RBS in June but were declined (sent in an appeal letter too) because I had gone into my unarranged overdraft twice, by a couple of quid each time for silly reasons by me! Been advised by MA to get a months clear statement of no going overdrawn and he will resubmit, which we will be doing on the 8th August. We have had a valuation and it went to underwriters previously.
Nerve-wracking and not sure if one months clean statement will work but fingers crossed!
Also when I applied I had £3k of credit card and student overdraft debt, which a family member has since kindly paid off for me, so hopefully that will go in our favour too!
Good luck everyone.0 -
Also joining this finally!
FTB just under 95% with Nationwide via broker - I'm an IFA (recently qualified!) so doing it through my mortgage broker at work.
House viewing 16/07
Offer accepted on 18/07
DIP completed & accepted on 22/07 (probably should have done this before looking at houses but it all happened very quickly!) - had to submit payslips online.
Full application submitted 28/07 - no other evidence asked for e.g. bank statements - is this normal?
Valuation - waiting on confirmation from Nationwide for when this is booked for!
Update: Valuation booked for tomorrow!I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and should not be seen as financial advice.0 -
To cut a long story short my wife an I decided to go for a mortgage and it turned out that we could only do it my name so we are going for a new build with HTB and used a broker to deal with it.
18/07 DIP Approved, Credit check appeared on my profile (assuming they did a hard check there and then)
27/07 Full application submitted with all requested documents
28/07 HTB approved Authority to Proceed
Now the waiting game! (not great considering im probably the most inpatient person in the world)
Valuation fees also where taken on the 29th but not a whisper since, emailed my MA 3 times today with no response and if i'm honest the wait it absolutely killing me I just want to know either way so I can relax and start planning other things i have 0 concentration levels at work at the moment. Its the most ridiculous process I have ever been through and I never want to do it again!!0 -
Has anyone else had to wait ages and then had a reduced offer? That's what happened to me and I'm now trying with another lender. I just hope my buyer doesn't get fed up of waiting!
So six weeks after putting an offer on the house, my broker has submitted another application0 -
01.08.2016 DIP

So an update to ours, mortgage was approved in branch at Natwest, and is now with the underwriters for the final decision. We should know by the end of the week.
Then it'll be down to waiting on paperwork to be passed around.0 -
Just got an email to say Nat West had a little blip because my account with them doesn't contain my house name just the number but the application does. They are now processing my case and will assess all documents in the next 48 hours.
Don't think I can take another 48 hrs waiting around my nerves and concentration are already shot!0
