    • Offer made: 14 Nov 13.
    • Offer accepted: 15 Nov 13.
    • Mortgage application made with santander on phone: 15 Nov 13
    • Salary slips, ID and initial inquiry form filled & uploaded on online Santander portfolio.
    • Full mge application made on the phone with mge consultant on 23 Nov 13.
    • Proof of deposit requested and uploaded on my online santander portfolio.
    • KFI received in post on 27 Nov 13
On 27 Nov 13, I was told that my application is with the validation team and once validated they will pass it to underwriters. I should expect a reply from underwriters by the end of Friday 29 Nov 13. I did not receive any reply. Today morning I called them and they told me that my application has been passed to head office for the decision! And I should expect reply from them by the end of this week!!!!

I am feeling sick, angry, disappointed etc etc.... They never told it before that this is a part of process and all of a sudden they told me this today. My question here is; is it a normal thing that case is refereed to headoffice during/after underwriters are working on it? OR my case is exceptional? My estate agent is calling my every second day to get the valuation date and I am stuck.

Kindly and please shed some light on the issue to relieve my nerves. Many thanks.

30/11 - 2nd house viewed - already had an offer on, so had to decide where to put offers. Offer put in with request of a quick decision.

Hiya all, I have been watching with sympathy, and sometimes hope and joy, as I watch you guys go through the painful process that I am going through... :(

tiz brill to watch some of you exchange.. and even complete :j :) :T

I tried to type my long drawn out case with Santander, but it took so long, the system logged me out, and my very very L O N G post was lost :( haven't got the heart to do it again, so I just thought I'd say hi :)

    I'll just add I've been through a bit of :j and :)

    and then :( and

but now I'm at :wall:... blurgh.

    Okay, I'm playing too.

19/11 - AIP from RBS (over the phone)
23/11 - House viewed. We liked it
27/11 - 2nd viewingHouse viewed again. We still liked it.
    30/11 - Offer made
    02/11 - Offer accepted.
Since receiving our AIP we have found better rate with Yorkshire building society, so and have booked in on Thursday with them:
05/11 - initial application with Yorkshire (over the phone)

But now I've spent a couple of hours looking around here and it looks like Yorkshire have particularly strict criteria and I'm stressing whether it's a good plan to go with them for the sake of a 0.1% lower rate and £500 cashback (less £130 application fee), rather than the govt backed RBS mortgage.

I don't like this game very much.

That's harsh! What are the estate agents saying?

Not a lot to be honest. I have rang them daily since Friday and everyday it's 'we'll try her again'. I even rang my broker today for a rant but he can't do anything. my sols have been really good but can't do anything until the other side get the contract signed. been told that as long as it is signed by Friday I can still complete but I don't think it's going to happen. feel bad for phoning estate agents but I don't want them to forget! if that makes sense x

That's horrible. It's the not knowing what's going on that's the worse. Don't stop hassling the estate agents over this!!
