I'm having to use Barrats' appointed solicitors because they want an expedited transaction (by 20/12) but I've heard NOTHING from them. I've emailed but only get read notifications, no replies, and I've rang them but get answerphone messages all the time  I'm not sure what happens next?0 -
3rd time buyer, going with the post office. Have had Aip and done full application last night, have been told it's approved today as got text then phone call from them. They just need our last 3 months wage slips as per standard and getting home report refreshed by surveyor and they have already contacted surveyor. My only fear is what if our buyers pull out argh! It's super early on and im only on day 4 after applying for Aip on Monday, going so fast, perhaps too fast lol not due to be moving in till 20th of jan, was told by solicitor the number 1 thing to hold up sales was mortgages so to get applying ASAP..0

what does passed credit check but failed internal check mean with regarding halifax?? Have had no defaults or credit issues, buying house which is half our borrowing capacity. The only caveat is 95% mortgage.

Hi everyone, my wife and I applied for a mortgage for 143,950 on Monday for a property of 160k, £16,050 deposit.
Aip done 22/11
Full mortgage app 2/12
Only docs requested were one months payslips
2 additional payslips of my wife march 2013, September 2013 as this is when she gets her bonus's (twice yearly).
Apparently I passed fine, they just have to check wife's bonus payslips?
Has anyone heard of this before? They haven't asked for any bank statements however the mortgage adviser has for her records.
Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure if this is correct, however I was under the impression that because a bonus is not every month they might not be able to take them into consideration. maybe they are checking affordability without these bonuses?
Just a thought but hope you hear something soon x0 -
Due to get my keys tomorrow! I just checked my eBaking on my phone and there's a new wee account listed showing my mortgage
Only downside is my OH is suck on Uist and working on storm damage so he won't be there with me0 -
Update on my case19/11 - AIP from RBS (over the phone)
23/11 - House viewed. We liked it
27/11 - 2nd viewingHouse viewed again. We still liked it.
30/11 - Offer made
02/11 - Offer accepted.
Since receiving our AIP we have found better rate with Yorkshire building society, so and have booked in on Thursday with them:
05/11 - initial application with Yorkshire (over the phone)
Just got off the phone to Yorkshire Building society, and they have agreed in principleCredit check came back as 'super pass plus' so that's that worry alleviated - hope the underwriter doesn't find anything he doesn't like that they didn't at that point, though the Mortgage adviser we were speaking to did hang up at one point to speak to someone else before giving us a decision and then rang us back to confirm they are in principle able to offer us the mortgage.
Full application tomorrow in branch at 9:30am. Exciting times.
ETA: Full application signed and submitted. Need to take in a couple more documents - apparently 'most recent bank statement' means 'bank statement yet to be issued' - because my statement date is the 20th of the month so they want my next statement that shows my pay from 24th Nov going into my bank account. Though they said they'd accept a print out from online banking.
Appointment today lasted from 9:30 to 12:15. Most of that was life and critical illness cover and buildings and contents, which I'll be looking into independent providers for anyway so that was somewhat time wasted. But at least we have made progress:
06/12 Full application submitted in branch. KFI received.0 -
