    Argh!!

Just spoke to the MA's company, and the mortgage underwriter is at lunch at the moment, but it appears that there might be some minor changes to the offer which has not been offered.

Which is not what we were told on Monday.

    !!!!!!. So very, very unimpressed.

Oh no! That's so frustrating to get so little/vague/downright wrong information from people who are supposed to be helping you!

Could you keep pestering them this afternoon, even if you have to speak to another MA? I really hate things not progressing before the weekend!

I gave my broker a quick call, and he answered question number 2): in Scotland, as long as the home report is done by someone on their panel and within the last three months the lender will accept it as evidence of a property's value and won't need to instruct their own valuation. Saves us a little bit of hair pulling! :T

Although, of course, at the moment so many lenders are snowed under with second property/BTL applications from people hoping to get in before the new stamp duty rises . . . :(

When we had all the stupid niggly, affordability nonsense at the start of February (see earlier posts - we are talking a matter of £5 a month!) we thought it was all sorted.

So far I have been told on 16th Feb, 7th March and 15th March that I will have a written offer on my doormat in 48 hours.

Surprise! None of them have materialised, and from what the poor lady on the phone just told me about the underwriter, it seems they have still not printed an offer if there have been a few 'slight changes'.

£495 fee for doing precisely what???

Nothing so far, as far as an offer anway.

So annoyed right now, that probably you good folks are the only people who understand.

Oh my goodness, we only put our application in on Thursday and I'm already (very unreasonably and impatiently) anxious and hating the wait!

I can't imagine being so close to getting the offer in your hands and then being messed around and having to wait AGAIN!

Well we've chosen the product we want, so it's back with the broker. Really hoping to hear it's all been submitted tomorrow and we can start the next stage of the waiting game :o

f0xh0les - Hoping things get sorted for you very soon, it must be so frustrating!

Spoke with MA this morning and I have a mortgage offer!!!!! :D
It should be sent to him this afternoon, fingers crossed it's all correct!
  • Hi everyone and Good Luck with your applications.

I've been waiting 6 weeks for a decision on my mortgage only to find out today that the broker hasn't even submitted it!

Needless to say, I've cancelled and have an appointment with another broker tomorrow. In the meantime though, I was going to transfer my credit cards onto one interest free deal.

Does anyone know whether this will help my credit score or hinder it please?:wall:

    Hi Freda,

I asked my broker the same thing before we started the process and was advised to not do anything. Basically too many searches on your file won't look great. Anyway it will take a couple of months for your credit score to reflect the change and it sounds as if your file is likely to be looked at before then.
