APOLOGIES I had started a new thread but saw this so will post on here .
Update from me Nationwide requested a few docs which have been resubmitted .I received a call regarding a valution scheduled for 22*03*16 ,0 -
"Meeee" I was in your position over two years ago. What a farce it was. We went through broker and originally went through national wide. They took a valuation fee (they take this even if your mortgage doesn't go through and is a rip off) and requested all our documents (payslips, bank statements, tax credit award notice). Sent it all to them, they declined us because my partners name wasn't on the award (even though me and my partner didn't live together at the time). We lost our valuation fee and the valuation fee was "non refundable".
Our mortgage advisor said every bank will want to see the award to ensure your earnings are correct on the notice and to ensure your partners name is on the award. Our broker was really good / dodgy haha he told us their was only ONE bank he knew of which doesn't request the tax credit award who was Halifax, and told us they take bank statements as proof of the tax credits. He said it was a risk if we wanted to take it and they could request the award at any time. We went ahead and they never !!! Had a Halifax mortgage for the past 2 n a half years.
Here's an insight for you though - me and my partner have now found a new house to move too and both have higher earning jobs than 2 years ago. We currently receive child tax credit only (no working tax) and know when both of our P60's come through in April we will have earned over the threshold to receive any tax credits anymore (earnt about 36k between us). So we've gone to a different mortgage advisor and submitted wage slips and bank statements only - the bank we are going through (Skipton Building Society) went to underwrite this and asked to see our tax credit award; even though we were not using tax credits in our affordability criteria as I know I won't be getting any from April. Any bank that see's a tax credit payment going into your bank account WILL ask to see your award regardless. They do this to see if you pay any nursery/after school club costs. I was very annoyed as I too had to re-order the paperwork from HMRC and sorry to inform you but mine only arrived yesterday!!! I was told up to two weeks to arrive - it came in 13 days. Was in the post on the 3rd March and got it on the 16th March. So as usual tax credits are working very slow.
We are going through Skipton and I posted my award off first class yesterday. I got a call from them today to tell me they're valuing the house Tuesday. Skipton have not done anything without the award notice so everything was on hold for 2 weeks - still waiting for offer. Now they have the award they are just waiting on the valuation and will then give an offer.
HOW LONG FROM VALUATION TO OFFER ANYONE USING SKIPTON???0 -
thnx xxxadele ,I have since resent wage slips and valuation is next week. Not sure if they have decided to go ahead whilst waiting for award notice.
stress to the max0 -
it appears having a valuation means you close to getting an offer is it.0

Everything feels like it's going way too slowly here. Just getting paperwork together and desperately hoping I've not also shredded the tax credits award letter!0

Hello!
I have been lurking on this very helpful thread for ages, but yesterday my husband and I put in a full application to Nationwide so I thought I'd join you! :j
We're first-time buyers living in Scotland, going through a broker who was recommended to us by our solicitor. Our timeline so far is:
13/02 - Viewed property
15/02 - Instructed solicitor
18/02 - Had our own Scheme 1 valuation carried out
22/02 - DIP accept from Nationwide
23/02 - Offer submitted, subject to specialist survey
29/02 - Offer accepted
14/03 - Specialist survey report received
17/03 - Full application submitted to Nationwide
As you can see, it's been a complicated, month-long process just to get to the stage where we could put our FMA in! It's a relief just to get this far, but I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone could help me with:
1) Our broker gets a bit funny with us when we ask about contacting Nationwide directly to get updates, so we don't know our full application reference number. But he hasn't even told us yet if Nationwide have received our application, which was submitted yesterday morning!Would we be able to contact Nationwide ourselves using our DIP reference number?
2) The home report was refreshed on 07/03, so it's very recent, and we do have our own valuation. Does anyone know what the process is with lenders in Scotland - will Nationwide accept the home report/our valuation, or will they still want to instruct their own valuation?
Many thanks in advance to anyone able to help! I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this process won't take too long. The Nationwide Intermediary website says it's taking around 10 working days at the moment, so we'll see!0 -
Well today is Friday, Friday is the day, at the latest that the written mortgage offer would arrive.
Guess what?
Yep, no offer in the post this morning
Found out on Wednesday that the MA is in Thailand for the weekend, not back in office until Tuesday 22nd, so 3 working days until 29th, when we planned to exchange and complete.
Solicitor now worried.
Rang Just Mortgages' hotline this morning, they sounded absolutely horrified.
So even with emailing the MA every two days, and being told everything was fine, and considering we submitted everything to her on 1st February, we are still not ready to roll.
And I PAID someone to do this so it would be easier!!!!!!
Hope you are all well and less stressy than I am today4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Argh!!
Just spoke to the MA's company, and the mortgage underwriter is at lunch at the moment, but it appears that there might be some minor changes to the offer which has not been offered.
Which is not what we were told on Monday.
!!!!!!. So very, very unimpressed.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
