  • Thanks Andreas! Whoops! I've just done it. I'll just have to explain what I've done, to the broker tomorrow and see what he can do.

So fed up of all this!
  • Hi Rhett

I'd contact the bank. The broker is there to do a job and if they aren't doing it...well...

I've just found out this morning that my broker hadn't submitted an application at all despite saying that she had (by phoning the bank myself). That's nearly 6 weeks after an AIP.

Congratulations VictoriaOz & gjheward91 - I'm glad it's all worked out and the waiting has finally ended for you! :j  Definitely gives me hope!

Oh my GOODNESS Freda  That is absolutely shocking! You should definitely let your old broker know you're not happy, and pop a couple of reviews online as well! Blimey. I hope you get on better with your new broker, and you should explain to him/her that your previous bad experience is the reason why you expect daily updates from them if you choose their services!

Massive congratulations to those who have vanquished the mortgage application process and hopefully will see you on the waiting to exchange board, once my MA comes back into the office (tomorrow? maybe? who knows!!)

We have spent our time playing the game 'What would you go to Thailand for 48 hrs for?' as we are a bit perplexed the MA would go such a long way, for such a short amount of time.

We are awaiting our (hopefully) offer from Halifax..... It's sitting with underwriter and should hear tomorrow, so scared and nervous as this is make or break for us! Anyone know what the underwriters at Halifax do??? We have been told everything is ok and all credit checks etc have been done and it's fine but still worried the underwriter will pick something up
  • Been told today that Halifax are ready to make an offer BUT need some more final bits of paperwork before they can.
P60 from the last time my husband was employed (he's now self employed so p60 from 3 years ago)
Letter emailed from his accountant that states what he would expect my husbands earnings to be this year.

P60 submitted on 21/3 and accountant should be emailing today (22/3)
I hope that that will be enough that we can get at least a verbal confirmation of offer before the Easter break.
As this offer seemed to be dragging on we have advised our solicitor to not instruct surveys until we are sure that we have the mortgage offer therefore if we can get venal confirmation before Thursday then we can give verbal instruction to solicitor to start on searches.

I think if it's been looked at by the underwriters already, and your valuation has been done and accepted, then the final check is just a quick lookover by the underwriters to make sure everything is completed and accurate - you should be fine by this point, try not to worry. :)

It might be good to give them a nudge if you don't hear anything today though, as a few people on this thread have had to chase up mortgage offers that are supposedly in the post!

    Like me!

My offer which according to the MA is 'fine' has been with the underwriters since 3rd March, and.... is.... still.... there.....

MA should be back in touch today.
    Perhaps...
