Another day and more queries from Halifax.
querying if husband was PAYE before he was self employed (been self employed for 3 years and we have provided his last p60 from when he was employed.
Want confirmation of his job title from when he was employed.
All answers sent back and now we wait again. I know all these questions are normal but it's been 3 weeks since our application was submitted and I just want a confirmation either way now!!0 -
DIP back with no issues, full application submitted - so it begins!0

Congratulations Katty and Pennyprincess! Amazing news
Did you get any news in the end today Foxholes?
We took Freda's advice and called Nationwide directly this afternoon (as we STILL haven't had any updates from the broker, and of course as far as he knows we have as much information as he's given us - which is very little!).
They told us that our documents had been checked and certified, which I guess means they're happy with the evidence of deposit/income? My husband said the woman he spoke to explained that Nationwide doesn't need any more documents from us in any case, and is (apparently!) just waiting for valuation then they can issue a mortgage offer.
So - contrary to what Google and my broker told me about the process in Scotland - Nationwide WILL be commissioning their own valuation, even though we have a Scottish home report. This valuation was instructed on 17/03 (when we submitted our application) and so we should expect to hear something back in the next 1-3 days. She explained that sometimes the valuation can be just a drive-by!
I have ALL MY FINGERS AND TOES CROSSED that the valuation comes back all good. I don't have too many worries about it - the price agreed on the house is actually £15,000 less than both the home report and our own private valuation. I would be VERY surprised if Nationwide valued it more than £15,000 below TWO independent valuations!
Updated timeline:
13/02 - Viewed property
15/02 - Instructed solicitor
18/02 - Had our own Scheme 1 valuation carried out
22/02 - DIP accept from Nationwide
23/02 - Offer submitted, subject to specialist survey
29/02 - Offer accepted
14/03 - Specialist survey report received
17/03 - Full application submitted to Nationwide
17/03 - Nationwide instructed valuation
22/03 - Nationwide confirmed our documents have been checked and certified, and that they are just waiting on their valuation report before they can issue a mortgage offer . . .
So it's all quite quickly progressing in the right direction! I am finding it extremely hard to believe it could possibly be this straightforward though, especially after reading about everyone else's experiences.
I am convinced that it's all going to go wrong somewhere!0 -
Lender has come back to ask for proof of deposit so sent that off. Hopefully that's the last documents they require now. Valuation is still planned for tomorrow!
I'll be glad once this is all done so I can finally relax and get myself some dye to cover up the grey hairs I've gained these past couple weeks!!0
