Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Hey all, just got a text from Nationwide saying they're issuing a mortgage offer... I told my wife not to get too excited because you never know what will happen but now I can't think of anything else lol
I actually think I'm going crazy. Initial searches are done, just waiting for that written offer to come through... then whatever is next, I have no idea0 -
Hanbobs, not sure if you'll be checking this thread for much longer but CONGRATULATIONS!!! And very happy signed-contract-returning day!
Not particularly impressed with my broker... The 10-day delay was because of the craziest thing. He phoned me to advise my OH hadn't sent through three months' bank statements. Whether he had or not, I'm not sure, but surely that ought to have been flagged sooner? My OH is terribly disorganised and I've already been labelled a nag more times than I care to count, yet I was surprised at this. Anyway, these were sent through, along with payslips on company letter heads (another Halifax request), and we've been told we'll hear by COP tomorrow.
But whether that happens is anyone's guess...
If it does go through smoothly, we have to think about when to advise our landlord. Anyone have any experience with this? What's the best approach?0 -
Phew! Offer issued!
07/01/2015 - Full application in branch via Nationwide Now (sort of Skype thing).
08/01/2015 - Valuation undertaken
18/01/2015 - AM informed that case had been picked up for audit/gone for plausibility checks
PM received email asking for clarification of something, called them, offer issued during conversation and then via text and email
Seems like nothing written down, but those seven working days were some of the most intensely stressful of my life!! So relieved.0 -

Ahh thank you!I managed to change our completion date for Friday 29th - which gives us another week of getting things in to place! Plus I've managed to book a few days off and have a long (but guaranteed to be stressful) weekend.
Oh no! That is an absolute ball achekeep me posted when you hear back! OH can be rubbish can't they :rotfl: this mortgage business has been near enough breaking point for us... the first thing I'm doing when we move in is arranging life insurance and then pushing him out of the window
Joking I am! ha ha

First time buyer here - I'm joining in.
Buying new build with HTB. Large 4 bedroom house - no other commitments, no wife/partner/livein/whatever, debt free (almost) with excellent credit score.
15/01/2016 : Broker visited, interviewed and completed forms + looked at all my income and outgoings.
16/01/2016 : Broker advised that 'mortgage in principle' had been granted by Skipton, passed credit checks etc.
18/01/2016 : HTB has been approved and 'noticed to proceed' offered to the house builder.
Awaiting on site survey now - nail biting stuff, never been through this before. I'd never have imagined it either. Worked really hard over the last year to clear almost all debt and build up a very good credit score with zero negatives and 6 positives. Never thought I'd ever be in this position!
6 years ago, my credit score was utterly appalling - now, after hard work in straighten it all up, I am now (hopefully) about to be a home owner! Doesn't quite seem real!0 -
Hi all,
FTB here so new to the anxiety a mortgage application can induce!!
My application timeline so far has been
24/12 - AIP with NatWest and full app submitted via L&C broker
24/12 - Proof of deposit requested
30/12 - Proof of deposit received
6/01 - ID documents requested as they were unable to electronically verify me; docs sent the same day
7/01 - Docs received and valuation payment taken
11/12 - Call from surveyors to book valuation
12/01 - Valuation complete
13/01 - confirmed valuation was OK and should receive offer the following week (which is this week)
Things have been slightly delayed due to Xmas break; I've been checking their online tracker and its still not showing at the offer stage which is slightly annoying.....I've never really been the most patient person :eek:0 -
I'm a long-time lurker on this thread, so I thought I would pipe up!
We are FTB buyers in Scotland applying to Nationwide through a broker.
05/01 -- Offer accepted
08/01 -- DIP
10/01 -- Full application received
12/01 -- Requested evidence of savings over 12 months and bank statements showing our December salary credits (argh my statement isn't generated until 19th Jan!)
13/01 -- Valuation booked (as it is in Scotland, I assume this means home report requested)
14/01 -- Home report received and agreed
My broker has advised we are literally just waiting on my January bank statement and final checks, so I keep checking my online banking in case my statement is up already :rotfl:
We do complain over how "long" it takes... It really is quite quick but feels like an eternity! :rotfl:0 -
Not sure if any of you are aware of my mortgage application... but 2nd application sent in the post today to Melton Mowbray!
fingers crossed!!!

Hi All
Help To Buyer here, property reserved
AIP with Natwest: 15/01/16
Reserved house: 17/01/16
Help 2 Buy Forms Sent: 20/01/16
Full Mortgage Application Submitted by broker: 20/01/16
Nervous as apparently we only just met the affordability criteria, have satisfied defaults and some debt between us. Just praying we get a good underwriter. We have banked with Natwest for 10 years. We got rejected for an AIP with Nationwide0 -
I'll join in, just had to reapply for a mortgage as the developer's contractor I am buying a new build from embezzled some money from them and they had to be fired, meaning my house is now due for completion towards the end of April, rather than January, sigh.
Already had a mortgage offer from Nationwide, but this one is only valid till the start of March, so not long enough and only scope to extend it for 2 weeks at most. Broker tried to convince them to issue a new offer based on the previous application, but in the end, they insisted on a new valuation, so start again from scratch.
17/12 - broker submitted full application with all supporting documents requested during previous application.
18/12 - receipt of application confirmed by Nationwide.
21/12 - valuation booked in for 04/01, looks like I didn't make the Christmas cut off
Going to be interesting to see how Christmas and New Year influences the time schedule. Last time they had the valuation booked for 3 days after the full application was submitted.
UPDATE:
28/12 - received news valuation has been moved forward to 30/12
30/12 - valuation carried out
31/12 - received text/email from Nationwide they have received the valuation report and are processing it
06/12 - have requested a copy of the valuation report for my own records, request accepted and processing
07/12 - Looks like the underwriters are finally sober again after the holidays, got a request for a month's worth of bank statements and proof of address, this was all already provided when the application was started, but it seems they want updated versions for some obscure reason. They also now require at least 1 month of spare funds showing on my accounts, which has been defined very vaguely, so no real idea what they want with this, but there's close to 10 grand in spare funds on my accounts, so I'm hoping that's fine for them. They've also requested a letter from my solicitor to confirm I have paid them 18 grand for the deposit and a bank statement showing the transfer of said 18 grand into the solicitor's account. Won't be able to provide the proof of address till Wednesday now as I'm visiting relatives and the documents they've listed they will accept are rather limited.
Can't say I'm terribly surprised though, first time I got a mortgage offer over the Summer, they lost all my documents at one point and I had to in essence start the application all over again, due to problems on Nationwide's end.0
