Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

It's early days for us, but I am not cut out for this type of waiting. I'm so anxious about the decision that I am literally thinking about it all day every day. I fully expect that to continue until we know.
Had a couple of queries about my OH's payslips over the last couple of days. On Monday they wanted to know what the salary sacrifice was (pension), and today they wanted to see the name of the workplace, which is actually on the other side of each payslip so we've just sent some more scans off. Wish these two things could have been flagged up front. I guess that's the downside of not having a broker.
Arrrrghhhhhhh. So nervous.0 -
Hello! My first post on here and anxiously awaiting a decision
Mortgage application with Woolwich
DIP in December, full application 22 December, valuation done in January and now been told they have all they need from us and we will have a decision in 24 to 48 hours. It is agonising. I had thought that they would have run all their checks before the valuation to check if they were happy with us and that once the valuation was sorted it would be quite quick but its taken a number of days.
Not good for my blood pressure!0 -

I cant cope!!!!! lol
It's been a week today, so guess they've got some xmas backlog.... hopefully will have an answer today...
Ah the waiting game is horrid! I've just arranged an appointment with my solictor to go through the paperwork with him, then we both need to go in to sign - not sure what exactly but I shall find out tomorrow lol!
It sounds daft, but I kind of wish we weren't so ahead - it's getting scary! Eeek! Although we can't wait to be in. Still, the thought of being a grown up and having a mortgage is a tad scary ha ha
Leeds had backlog over Christmas due to the flooding  and were in 'emergency mode' for a while.
I think you'll be fine with Melton however! Fingers crossed for today0 -

DIP has been approved!
So now for another full application to be made and then back to the waiting game :rotfl:0 -
Hanbobs, delighted to hear you're full steam ahead with the microwave! Ha, sensible to wait if you're taking finance out on the sofa though.
I haven't heard anything more from our broker. He mailed at COP on Friday to say they hadn't finalised it. I'm not even sure what that means. Still no further word. I rang Halifax directly who said as long as I have an account number I can discuss it with them... An account number before the mortgage is approved? That was surprising, but perhaps it's just their reference.
Anyway, more waiting! Did your hard copy arrive?0 -

Yay! Congrats - let's hope it doesn't take too long now to get your offer through :T0 -

I think the account number will be the same account number as the mortgage application - perhaps your MA knows what this is as they filled the application in for you
We couldn't discuss things with Leeds due to confidentiality reasons, even though I could have provided them with proof of, well, everything to prove it was me lol
Our solictor provisionally asked for ours but I couldn't supply it at the time (this was a few days before our application was sent to Leeds by our MA) but it's on the offer and he should be recieving a copy in the post.
The hard copy (I'm told) should arrive today if it didn't yesterday. So I'll be checking the mailbox the second I return from work. :T0 -
Bit of a delay for us. Won't be getting the valuation survey till next Friday. The vendors are not being very flexible.0

17/12 - broker submitted full application with all supporting documents requested during previous application.
18/12 - receipt of application confirmed by Nationwide.
21/12 - valuation booked in for 04/01, looks like I didn't make the Christmas cut off
28/12 - received news valuation has been moved forward to 30/12
30/12 - valuation carried out
31/12 - received text/email from Nationwide they have received the valuation report and are processing it
06/12 - have requested a copy of the valuation report for my own records, request accepted and processing
07/12 - Looks like the underwriters are finally sober again after the holidays, got a request for a month's worth of bank statements and proof of address, this was all already provided when the application was started, but it seems they want updated versions for some obscure reason. They also now require at least 1 month of spare funds showing on my accounts, which has been defined very vaguely, so no real idea what they want with this, but there's close to 10 grand in spare funds on my accounts, so I'm hoping that's fine for them. They've also requested a letter from my solicitor to confirm I have paid them 18 grand for the deposit and a bank statement showing the transfer of said 18 grand into the solicitor's account. Won't be able to provide the proof of address till Wednesday now as I'm visiting relatives and the documents they've listed they will accept are rather limited.
Finally got my valuation from Nationwide today, no down valuation this time, unlike the previous valuation for the same property. It's been valued at full asking price, so happy days(Actually, the value mentioned on the valuation report has the property valued at 8k more than asking, but don't tell the developer that
) No idea what the last surveyor was smoking when he down valued the property.
Just picking up a letter from my solicitor tomorrow to confirm they received 18 grand for me to hold as deposit and then all requested documentation will be with the underwriters. I hope on a decision end of the week or beginning of next week...0 -

Great to hear your case is going forward smoothly.
Interesting to hear about the valuation. I've requested our valuation report from Nationwide (actually, they offered to send it to me). Over the phone they said it was 'approved at the purchase price' but I am wondering if it might be more. I didn't know whether it was a purchase price/less type binary with valuations.
Is your property 'officially' valued at more than you're buying it for, or is that just buried within the text? Do you know how they'll treat the value a few years down the line when you're trying to remortgage/change products?0
