MA has put in my AIP today into The Melton Building society, I've never heard of them before, anyone have any experience?
He has said they take a few days for AIP's so it may be until Friday until I even hear back for that :(
  • Got my mortgage offer through from Halifax within 3 weeks - so happy!!! Although the valuation came back the offer price it says previous movement but not ongoing.

Anyone had this? I'm thinking of getting a full survey to be sure. Don't think I want to exchange until this is inspected.

    Any guidance would be welcomed.

    Thanks
    Tim

That's the building society I told you about :rotfl:melton mowbray; it's who our friends went with when they couldn't get a mortgage with Leeds. Their offer took less than 3 weeks to arrive and as far as I can tell, they didn't have much hassle from them in regards to documents etc etc...

Were you able to keep the reservation on the house with having to obtain a new AIP? As we weren't allowed to reserve the house until we had the AIP. Just curious if the entire process has to start again...

We have our valuation today! And the final forms have been sent to the MA - Leeds took less than 24 hours to approve the HMRC form. It was sent to MA on Monday 4th Jan who then sent it to Leeds that afternoon. It was approved by 11am Tuesday 5th Jan. I was pretty impressed!
I received my statement in the post on Monday evening (the final pending statement) so sent it to MA on Tuesday morning - fingers crossed it's approved today. Valuation and full approval on the same day - now that would be great! ha ha but knowing my luck it'll be in the queue for the full 5 days :rotfl:

    YESSSS!

Finally received a mortgage offer acceptance via text and email. Should be in the post now coming my way.

I've had a tough time just getting this offer sorted. We used Nationwide and at the beginning we had an AIP meeting which lasted about 40 minutes in branch which went fine. Right after the meeting me and my other half went around our banks to print statements showing our proof of deposit and wages being paid in etc. Handed these in to Nationwide same day who copied them over. (Also took copies of our last 3 months payslips and other info)

Get a call from Nationwide a week later. "Sorry, some of the statements don't have your address headed on top." Ok, so we both take out another day's holiday from work to get correct statements. This proved extremely difficult and took us most of the day! Hand them in, job done.

Get a call from Nationwide another week later. "Sorry, two of the statements need to be stamped, dated and signed by the bank issuing the statement." Have to take morning off work, get them stamped, signed and dated. Hand them in. Starting to wonder why we weren't told all this up front at the initial interview.

Mortgage meeting, 3.5 hours in branch. Everything sorted.

Get a call a week later from the checking team at Nationwide asking where two lots of money have come from. The amounts were 10.5k and 20k ish in another account. Both were transferred from old isas into our current account just to keep it all together ready for sending deposit payment and paying fees etc. Again, thinking how have we got to this point without someone asking us where this money had come from in the beginning? This money was transferred in 2014 and some of it gifted by parents. How far back do they want to go? Getting stressed now. Are they going to ask where our parents got the money from?

Seems very, very over zealous with the rule book to me!

Then get an email saying they need proof of where that money is from with statements and a gift certificate type thing. At this point even the broker was getting annoyed and contacted head office to tell them everything was fine. Print off ISA statement anyway just to show that we are trying our hardest to get this sorted.

    Then it's Christmas.

Finally offer approval sent via text and email last night, offer in the post apparently. :j

A lot of others things had gone wrong during this process with Nationwide, too many to list here really as it's already turned into a complete rant post but it does include Nationwide losing my last 3 months payslips after photocopying the originals and then trying to look for them frantically before denying all knowledge of me handing them in. Everything would have been fine if we were told exactly what they needed from us right at the beginning of the process.

Ah that's good! Let's hope your process speeds up with the new lender. :T

Our valuation has been done and the houses are being handed over to the sales team tomorrow (eek!) sales have pushed our completion date back to the 22nd January - which I don't think is doable as our solictors are only really 2 weeks in to the conveyancing process (excluding the 10 days they were off for over Christmas) - and the process can take between 8-10 weeks.

I have just rang the solictors to give him the new date and he informed me all the searches have been done and I should have the forms to look over within the next 24 hours (eeeee!) and then we need to arrange an appointment with him so he can go through it all and we can sign some more forms etc... I'm not really sure what the next step is that they do now? Endless amounts of paperwork I'm guessing.

I really hope the process goes beyond the proposed completion date. it would be nice to get another wage in before having to be a grown up :rotfl:

I've just messaged my OH to let him know I'm kacking my pants lol
