  • Its good to see people's journeys go so smoothly . Hopefully it will be the same for us . We have submitted our joint mortgage application to Santander (only using one persons income though). For a 85% mortgage . We have two buy to lets that are self funding with tenants. Anyone had a similat experience and what the Santander waiting times are at the moment ? We submitted our application through a broker on 18/12 after we got an AIP and contrary to the 48 hour turn around we were advised ,we havent heard nothing yet..hopefully this is not a baf sign.

Hey @hanbobs, because i'm a contractor it showed just my first and last name on my contract but they wanted my full name including middle name on the contract so i contacted the agency i'm employed through and they responded quickly with a new contract.

The notice of correction on the file was regards to a dispute of £149 pounds with Lloyds. The account was closed but I was being charged monthly fees still.

Ah thank you for your reply :o it's very much appreciated.

Glad you were able to sort it, and again congratulations!
  • Email from MA today saying Leeds system now shows no outstanding requirements so it's just waiting for the valuation to be returned and a offer should be issued.... Could be the worst or best Christmas present ever if I manage to hear tomorrow...

    Hurrah! Fingers crossed!

I've had a response from Leeds also. They've requested 2 things from us, one of which I have just managed to arrange and the other is something my partner has to do. But apart from that, all is ok on our application according to our MA and will go through subject to a valuation which is the least of my worries woohoo!
Apparently Leeds tried to make contact with the Housing Association so they could do their valuation but were unable to get in touch! My MA has forward them a few different numbers in case they had the wrong one :rotfl:
  • Just received a call from MA... Leeds have reached their maximum lend on that particular development so cannot offer the mortgage!!! :(
So MA is applying with another lender tomorrow morning...

You are joking? That's ridiculous! Why has it taken this long to discover this? Surely if they had a limit of the amount they could loan then they shouldn't have accepted any more applications?

Here's hoping your process with the other lender won't take too long....

Lenders can only have 25% lent on a development.... I will hunt down who has a mortgage there with Leeds! haha
Yeah you would think so, they have had the address for over a week...
Hope the new lender will be quick!
  • Thats Awful! As if they didnt see that to start off with. Ive given up on hearing anything from Santander until after Xmas..maybe applying for a Mortgage this time of the year.

Yes good idea! Go hunt them down lol

Leeds have requested my partner send them a specific file which we couldn't get hold of for them to just come back and say they had sent us the wrong information and that wasn't the file they required anyway. My hearts in my mouth the entire time lol
