Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

I am a self employed IT contractor with an annual salary of about £80k. I have today been approved a mortgage with Halifax. The Dip says they are prepared to lend nearly £380k Only last year I could not get a mortgage due to lack of contractor experience.
I'm a FTB single applicant although live with partner not married. My credit score on experian is 'very poor' and this was shared with a senior underwriter at Halifax who said there wasn't nothing detrimental on it.
Very pleased.0 -
There was just a remark near a section on the valuation report that asks the surveyor 'Does the property offer sufficient security for the lender' or something down those lines that mentioned a figure of 197k, so I'm just assuming that means the surveyor thinks it's worth more than the asking price.
It's all good anyway, I get some money back I wasn't expecting now, so I can have that nice electric garage door I wanted
Nervous wait to see if all my documents are accepted now, generally been taking 2-3 working days to process after my MA has submitted them.0 -
I think the account number will be the same account number as the mortgage application - perhaps your MA knows what this is as they filled the application in for you
We couldn't discuss things with Leeds due to confidentiality reasons, even though I could have provided them with proof of, well, everything to prove it was me lol
Our solictor provisionally asked for ours but I couldn't supply it at the time (this was a few days before our application was sent to Leeds by our MA) but it's on the offer and he should be recieving a copy in the post.
The hard copy (I'm told) should arrive today if it didn't yesterday. So I'll be checking the mailbox the second I return from work. :T
Hehe, how exciting! Any news? Hard copy arrived?
Still no word from our broker since Friday. Maybe I'm being ridiculous. I said aloud 'I wonder how Hanbobs is getting on', and my OH just stared; I must be going mad.0 -
You're welcome!
You MA should have noticed that, it's what they're paid for lol
Our offer originally got accepted Wednesday 6th January - the same day our valuation was done... but it had a term and condition regarding a letter from HMRC that Leeds required. However, on Friday 8th January our offer came through minus Leeds having received the HMRC form as it hadn't even arrived to my partners address. So now we don't even need it :rotfl:
I'm just waiting for it to arrive via post (I have it as a pdf format in an email) - the one sent via post will have a form for us to sign and return. It should arrive today
I know, we took the documents they asked for back into branch on Saturday and they supposedly faxed them through for us however we had an email Monday from our case worker a the head office asking for the documents, emailed back and explained we took them into branch only for her to email today asking for the same documents! It's been a week today since our appoinment and I'm getting frustrated, these documents should of been checked properly there and then and it could of been sorted that day. However the valuation was done yesterday so waiting for the results of that and weve been to the solicitors today to take our paperwork and deposit. Hopefully they can start the searches straight away and fingers crossed it'll be smooth sailing from now!
Aww that's great,bet you;rereally excited now it's all sorted aren't you :-D0 -

God knows what I'll be like when it comes to choosing a dining table and chairs!
Hehe glad it's not just me! I spent weeks looking at which saucepans I wanted...in the end I decided the ones I wanted were too expensive and saw some good ones at a decent sale price so bought those. Every time we go anywhere we end up buying bits for the house, I've already chosen my sofa, fridge, dining table and washing machine but still can't help but look!!:rotfl:0 -

I have an appointment with our solictor today to go through all of the paperwork and the results from our searches that we got back last week - then we're off to the house to measure up (again) for the final time before it is legally ours :T
Our solictor is giving us the mortgage deed and contract this afternoon so I can take it home and we can both sign it - then I'll drop it back off to him on Monday and it's just waiting for our Completion Date (which has already been agreed for the 22nd January) and we're done.
Thank you for everyone's help with answering questions and keeping me calm through this stressful time! I hope that any advice/help I have offered has equally helped you guys as much as you've helped me.
HANG ON IN THERE GUYS! IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!!xx

DIP last week, application on tuesday, survey done wednesday. Our roofer looked on thursday and discovered a huge crack down the chimney!
Argh!
Now awaiting full building survey, and a mortgage decision! Then we have to negotiate!0 -
I think our app is going for 'final checks' with the underwriters at Nationwide either today or Monday. Any experiences of this part of the process?0

After 2yrs back on with the stresses of re-mortgaging. It started off all great. House has increased considerably in the last two years. We want to get a better rate but also clear debts. So with still getting a deal under 80%LTV we could clear all our debts freeing up at least £1800 a month, and even reduce the term. Application to Natwest sent last week, it was referred and then yesterday had the approved status, and they had booked surveyor for Monday. I was jumping for joy. But today surveyors have been cancelled. Seems that we have now been declined due to banking statements (I had gone over my OD a few times. Not by much and never long). Broker (who's a sta, have to say) now appealing. So fingers crossed for the long wait. I so hope they see that by clearing all our debts and the equity in the house, that we are a good bet. arghhhh!!!!!0
