02/09/13 - broker coming to see us to do full application

No adverse credit, etc, on mine or OH's credit history, only 2 in chain, so hoping this runs smoothly for us.

And my valuation and survey is on Wednesday, so excited. Am I right in thinking this is the last step before offer?

Applying for a mortgage with abbey through London and country.

Still at the very first stage at the moment, but very nervous as I'm on a temporary employment contract, have a late payment from 2010 and the only credit I've ever had is a mobile phone contract.

However I do have a big deposit and very small LTV, and have been told by my broker that none of the above should be a problem.

Very much not looking forward to the next few weeks!

Big congrats to everyone that has received a mortgage offer so far
    Mortgage received 21/12/2018
    Mortgage at start - £261,980
    Current mortgage - £260,276
Saving towards a loft conversion first, then to smash the mortgage down!

yes thats usually the case. Lenders don't normally send a valuer unless they are happy with the affordability\finances etc. However until you have the keys in your hand its not a done deal...keep positive tho.
  • I applied for a Nationwide mortgage and am awaiting the offer, I have a CCJ from over 5 years ago but under 6, it is satisfied but its stressing me out some what!

    Time line:

    MIP accepted 16/08
Offer accepted on the house 16/08
    Valuation done 19/08
Documents sat in branch for a week, finally received on the system 30/08
    Some documents approved today....

Fingers crossed we get the offer this week!

I haven't sent anything to the solicitors yet as I don't think there is much point until mortgage offer is received given I have my doubts on acceptance...! Affordability is not a problem but the LTV is 90%

The upside to this is as I bank with nationwide they have all my details already and I only had to send them my payslips and P60, partner had to send proof of name, address, payslips, bank statements but oddly no P60?

  • Hi all

I'm joining in if that 's okay. :)

We're buying a new build through the Help to buy scheme with Natwest. We had the authority to proceed a couple of weeks ago. Full mortgage application went in the Friday before last with the supporting docs finally faxed by our IFA last Friday. Today we supplied more supporting docs requested and are waiting to hear further. Hoping to get the valuation instructed in the next few days!
  • Little bit of back story - FTB's buying a property that needs full refurbish, central heating installing and electrics. My dad does full house refurbs so this is less of an issue than it may be for other FTB's
This fact in itself though has thrown up issues such as the Mortgage survey valuing less than we offered.

The Mortgage we are going for is the Wolich Springboard 95% with 10% guarantor for 3yrs (in law) Also extending the process.

    Why so long...

    June - MIP agreed
    18/06/13 - offer accepted
2/7/13 - Mortgage Survey - (value lower than offer)
3/7/13 - Price renegotiation, met half way
9/7/13 - Lender want more detailed surveys to proceed
    11/7/13 - Survey 1
    20/7/13 - Survey 2
8/8/13 - Lender sends forms for guarantor to complete (turns out they need to get financial advice)
13/8/13 - Guarantor meets with solictior ( agree to provide advice)
16/8/13 - Bank appointment for guarantor
23/8/13 - Call from Lenders - apparently the bank missed there bit out. (comfirming gaurantors ID)
29/8/13 - 2nd Bank appointment to solve issue

Now i'm just waiting for underwriters to get back to me with a mortgage offer.............still waiting.......so close I can feel it.
  • Just confirmed with colleys that my valuation has been done this morning and it was :)

Just waiting now for mortgage offer

How long do you think I will have to wait from valuation date to knowing what my offer is??
