YAY Good news,. Offer in the post today and will receive it tomorrow. ;-) at last. We took the scenic route but we got there eventually.

Getting very antsy with HSBC here. I've called them every day for them to tell me my application hasn't arrived.

Today, they said it had and they'll "contact me" to let me know how it goes.

Twice today my phone rang for about 2 rings before stopping and the number is from HSBC (their outbound 0800 number...). Both times I've missed it and there's no message. It's driving me nuts! Are they toying with me?

When I called back I was told that it's received and they'll contact me "if they have any questions" arrrrrgh!

So i've been reading everyone's posts while i wait for my mortgage to go through. Our valuation was carried out yesterday and we received the following text last night

We are delighted to inform you that we have now issued a formal mortgage offer. We look forward to completing based on this offer.

After the excitement we're now worried that maybe theres a catch and we might have jumped the gun with the excitement.

Almost ten weeks in, still going strong...

13th June - Offer on property accepted, Solicitors appointed
19th June - AIP received
20th June - Application made to Halifax
3rd July - Valuation completed (Halifax/Colleys)
11th July - Searches and enquiries made
20th July - Solicitors struck off Halifax's panel
22nd July - New Solicitors appointed, case re-started
23rd July - Received searches transferred to new solicitors
27th July - Mortgage offer received
2nd August - Remaining searches and enquiries received and approved
20th August - Contract received, signed and returned with deposit and solicitors fees

Yet to exchange and complete... Sofa should be arriving this week, no house to put it in. We thought we'd be well in by now!! In this day and age with the technology we have, slightly amazed a process can take this long!

is applying through a broker to natwest cheaper than applying directly to nattiest. I bank with them and was wondering which was the best method of applying.

Had an email from broker to say application accepted subject to valuation and surveyor now being appointed YAY ( for now )

Just got off the phone from the Leeds and they have given us the mortgage!! Its in the post, so hopefully will see it in writing in the next couple of days or so.....

I'm just sooo happy....:j:j:j:j:j:j:j many many many weeks of waiting and its finally here!

Good luck to everyone still waiting... it'll be worth it in the end!
