Ah, it's all fun and games.
Having just been promoted, my salary changed on the day I sumitted my application, and won't be on my payslips until 25th Feb. Crazy day of writing letters to Halifax and signing third party disclaimer forms with my employer.
More wine please.0 -
Okay, so I can finally join the mortgage decision club!
26th Jan - HTB Equity Loan application submitted
30th Jan - Authority to Proceed issued
30th Jan - Full application submitted with Nationwide
30th Jan - Nationwide contacts developer (New build) to arrange a valuation on Monday 2nd Feb
I'm surprised with how quickly this is moving already. I wasn't expecting the valuation to be arranged so quickly.
Let's hope everything else goes to plan0 -

Hello everyone,
My status is as below with Halifax:
- DIP received on 14-01-2015
- Property reserved on 18-01-2015
- HTB approval on 23-01-2015
- Full mortgage application on 28-01-2015
- Valuation instructed on 30-01-2015
- Valuation carried on 03-02-2015
Rest is waiting :-) thanks0 -
So frustrated. After being told by my broker that my valuation would be carried out on 23rd January, and then the 28th January, I've found out today it'll be done on 6th February.
Halifax and my Estate Agent just don't seem to be communicating - it's so frustrating. This is the final stage of my application and I just feel like the agony is being prolonged. The knowledge that I now won't know my offer until next week is the worst feeling.0 -
Thought I would join in!

Try not to dwell on it, you can't change anything now!
Good luck btw.0 -
Ok I am not sure of some of the exact dates of mine but here goes (I am in Scotland so process will be slightly different to some).
I am in my 30's and buying my first property by myself so had been looking at flats for a while (did not think I could afford a house) and have rented a flat in the mean time to see how myself and the dogs settled in the town I was looking in. Liked a flat I saw but then went under offer quick however in order to view the flat I had to have a discussion with a Mortgage Advisor. After this I put an ad on a facebook Property sales/wants page for what I was looking for and received a reply from someone about a house.
First viewed the house 30/11/14 and had a second viewing on 6/12. I already had a decision in principle for a mortgage at this stage.
10th December 2014 - Solicitor puts first offer in on house after a bit of discussion my second offer was accepted on the 12th December for completion on 30th January (which I have now missed).
16 or 17th December - Application documents sent to mortgage advisor and contacted by him on the 23rd December for further documents.
7th January - I now believe that the full mortgage application was not actually submitted until the 7th or 8th January and was informed at this stage that end of January completion was unlikely.
14th January ish - contacted by Newcastle Building Society to check a few bank transfers and also ID problems - I do not have a valid passport and do not drive.
20th January - contact Revenue and Customs to ask for a copy of my PAYE code for this year to my current address as letter (which was my ID) refused because it was at my old address. Survey of house also requested at this stage and done in a few days.
4th February - A phone call later to re request letter from Revenue and Customs the original letter eventually arrives.
That is as far as I have got at the moment so hopefully not too much longer as I will be homeless in a few weeks. Luckily the sellers have not pulled out as I missed the original date. I did not realise how hard it would be to prove my identity and would definitely just get passport renewed in future - not that I plan to move anytime soon too many grey hairs.0 -
I'll join in too, perhaps it'll calm my nerves! My partner and I are FTBs. Our journey so far:
26/1 - AIP with Leeds BS
27/1 - Found dream house (three doors down from where we currently rent lol)
28/1 - View house, put in offer of asking price (£249,950)
29/1 - Offer accepted :T
2/2 - Meet with broker, decide to change lender
3/2 - AIP with Natwest
4/2 - Full application submitted
In the mean time we've sent loads of forms back to our solicitor to keep things moving on that front. I feel absolutely tummy-twistingly sick with nerves, terrified that either a) the mortgage will be refused for some unforeseen reason or b) the valuation will come out as much less than what we're paying. Fingers crossed that everything moves swiftly!
