Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

I'm still waiting on my mortgage offer...
Full application submitted to Coventry BS on 13th January, lots of requests back for further paperwork and now gone quiet waiting for underwriters decision, fingers crossed this comes next week the waiting is killing me..
catoutthebag.. Order your SA302 from HMRC ASAP because it can take 2 weeks to arrive and will hold up the process (happened to me..if you get 'lucky' you will get a nice worker who will fax it to you as well, they did this for me after i got tired of waiting, but get the paper copy too incase the lender asks). You can make an offer without having an agreement in principle if you wish, you don't *have* to get one first, but it only takes a moment anyway...0 -
We're going with Nationwide. It's confusing as we had a text to say 'your valution has been booked for 6th Feb' yet the homebuyers survey is scheduled for 18th Feb. I'm assuming they combine them and the valuation text must be relating to the date they have booked in ON, not FOR? (i.e. booked on 6th for the 18th?)
It's confusing. I am just so nervous and the texts aren't helping :-(0 -

I am in my 30's and buying my first property by myself so had been looking at flats for a while (did not think I could afford a house) and have rented a flat in the mean time to see how myself and the dogs settled in the town I was looking in. Liked a flat I saw but then went under offer quick however in order to view the flat I had to have a discussion with a Mortgage Advisor. After this I put an ad on a facebook Property sales/wants page for what I was looking for and received a reply from someone about a house.
First viewed the house 30/11/14 and had a second viewing on 6/12. I already had a decision in principle for a mortgage at this stage.
10th December 2014 - Solicitor puts first offer in on house after a bit of discussion my second offer was accepted on the 12th December for completion on 30th January (which I have now missed).
16 or 17th December - Application documents sent to mortgage advisor and contacted by him on the 23rd December for further documents.
7th January - I now believe that the full mortgage application was not actually submitted until the 7th or 8th January and was informed at this stage that end of January completion was unlikely.
14th January ish - contacted by Newcastle Building Society to check a few bank transfers and also ID problems - I do not have a valid passport and do not drive.
20th January - contact Revenue and Customs to ask for a copy of my PAYE code for this year to my current address as letter (which was my ID) refused because it was at my old address. Survey of house also requested at this stage and done in a few days.
4th February - A phone call later to re request letter from Revenue and Customs the original letter eventually arrives.
That is as far as I have got at the moment so hopefully not too much longer as I will be homeless in a few weeks. Luckily the sellers have not pulled out as I missed the original date. I did not realise how hard it would be to prove my identity and would definitely just get passport renewed in future - not that I plan to move anytime soon too many grey hairs.
Finally got my letter from Customs and Revenue through on Wednesday so it was submitted on 5th February - just a waiting game now hoping to hear within the next few days. Not as stressed as I was with the ID issue as it is out of my hands now and there is nothing I can do. I have got all the wallpaper bought (and furniture ordered) for the new house though and am hoping to move the weekend of the 21st feb so cutting it a bit tight.0 -
I thought I'd add my two cents! I'm a first time buyer, only 25, buying totally alone, and already feeling incredibly stressed. I started my house hunt nine days ago (no agreement in principle and no planning), viewed one flat on a whim and fell in love. Nine whirlwind days later, my timeline....
- 15th Jan - Decided to buy a house
- 17th Jan - Viewed property on whim
- 19th Jan - Second viewing
- 20th Jan - Put my offer in with the seller
- 21st Jan - Offer accepted
- 21st Jan - Met broker to discuss options
- 22nd Jan - Put in application with Halifax
- 23rd Jan - Valuation took place
It's been an absolute whirlwind couple of weeks - I never expected to do this much so quickly. I should find out the valuation tomorrow and I'm incredibly nervous. Fingers crossed...
In context:
- £135,000 property
- £35,000 deposit
- £22,000 salary
- Clean credit history and no credit agreements
- Completely chain free property
And offer through today!!:beer:0 -
Hi, im a FTB waiting on my mortgage decision from Santander!
Im married but due to my partner being self employed for less that 3 years we can't use his income on the mortgage. We have 11% deposit
we had an AIP from santander a few days ago and have now submitted a full application through a broker, can anyone tell me what to expect with the process.
Will it have a negative effect on me not having my partners earning being included.
if Ive had the AIP does this mean i will definitely get the mortgage?

Just adding my experience for those using London & Country and Santander
19th Jan - Viewed Property, loved it. Rang L&C arranged MIP
22nd Jan - Offer accepted. L&C recommend we go with Abbey/Santander so we begin to send them all our paperwork.
27th Jan - Full mortgage application submitted to the Lender
6th Feb - Mortgage Offer Issued.
Annoyingly, we weren't informed the valuation had happened so were in the dark for a couple of weeks aside from when we had more documents requested. Am pleased that it has come through though and we are just waiting on the seller to sort out his end.0 -
Our latest Abbey/Santander case;-
Submitted 3/2
Docs uploaded 3/2
Valuation instructed 4/2
Application agreed 5/2
Valuation back 9/2
Offer issued 9/2.
They are one of the better lenders at the moment for getting cases to offer quickly. Giving surveyors only five days to do valuations and get them back helps tremendously.I am a mortgage broker.
