This is doing my head in a bit.

Money for valuation with Halifax taken from my account 11 feb.

Still NOTHING. No word from estate agent. Broker said he'd follow up on tues. Now thurs and still not updated from anyone. Ordinarily I'd be enquiring with the lender but as it's all with broker I'm reliant on him to hustle.

Gaaaaaaaargh. Book the damn valuation or give me back my damn money!

    My journey

    31/01 - Viewed house (twice), then a 3rd drive-by at night
31/01 - Conversation with Mortgage Broker
02/02 - DIP received from NW

Full application will be done on Thurs 5th.

How did everyone calm their nerves, I'm honestly getting myself so wound up.

    Overjoyed!!! Continuing from the above,

10/2 - Full application submitted to Nationwide
13/2 - Application was with the UWs
    16/2 - Valuation booked for 19/2
    19/2 - Valuation took place
20/2 6:50am - Text advising the valuation report had been received
20/2 6:51am - Text advising we had a formal mortgage offer!!

All in about 7.5 working days!

Can't fault NW at all! From the 10th till now has been a nightmare though, sitting waiting to hear! So relieved and can't believe I will now be on the property ladder! :j:beer:

Keep going, you will get there!

I am in exactly the same position as you, with Halifax. DIP received Jan 28.
Reserved a new build property and we have 6 weeks until proposed move in date..

Full application put in through broker on 12/02/2015
Valuation fee taken out on the same day.. and as of today, still waiting for any news from broker , or halifax and can't get nothing...

    Arrrrggggg!!! Tearing my hair out!

Did they ask you for more documents after your initial application? Every time you send in new documents you get put to the back of the queue and it can take up to 5 working days for the 'processors' to review the documents.

Or they might just be waiting for the vaulation report to come back before issuing a mortgage offer.

If poster is in the same situation as me, they have taken the fee for valuation inc a homebuyer report, and not actually booked the damn valuation or made any contact with the estate agents. It's been over a week since they took the money -£495 - and I'm starting to get really, really ticked off!

We have not as far as I know had to provide any additional documents.

If they haven't asked you for more documents in the space of a week then I can't imagine your case is still with an underwriter - I would try phoning up directly and see what is holding things up.

Halifax use Colleys, they are pretty prompt at booking surveys, usually within 24 hours of instruction.

    I know right?

Unfortunately it all went through a broker so I have no immediate contact. I'd like to check with him before I go chasing (I'm sure I would eventually be able to find the right department). However I've left messages and as yet no reply. Not great from the broker, and he doesn't have any out of office set up so for all I know he could be off work this week. Phone is straight to answerphone... Now hoping he hasn't gone under a bus!

    where's that head/wall smiley?
