Thanks for your thoughts Dave. Estate Agent is OK at the moment and everyone is quite calm. But, I really appreciate your viewpoint. We did consider sacrificing the rate for someone else, but broker seems confident that this will work - I have to have my faith in him at this point. It's all a bit stressful and beyond us at the moment!!

Quick update on this for those that remember. Mortgage from the Post Office declined.

    DIP received from Accord 18.12.14.
    Full application to Accord 18.12.14
Lots of queries and questions over Christmas period
    Valuation done 09.01.15
    Mortgage offer TODAY

:j Over the moon. Such a stress relief - like a weight being lifted. I really do think the key to this acceptance was that my broker has very good contacts at Accord, whereas he had none at Post Office.

There really IS a mortgage for everyone and a broker is totally the way to go. Good luck to those waiting.

Time Line - going direct with Nationwide online.
May - AIP agreed, sent payslips and bank statement - all ok.
Dec 16th - AIP renewed with no changes
    Full application processed
Dec 17th Requested proof of deposit and valuation payment
Dec 19th - Took online print out of premium bonds transactions into local branch and they uploaded it directly to the application
Dec 20th - Told online print out wasn't acceptable. Called premium bonds people to request a paper statement to be sent out.
Dec 23rd - Valuation carried out.
Jan 3rd - Finally received paper statement of premium bonds
Mon 5th - Took paper statement into local branch
Weds 7th - Branch finally uploaded it straight to case
Mon 12th - Chased our direct point of contact at Nationwide. She said the statement should be checked by end of day Tues 23th it will then go to either final checks or straight to offer!

We are on a tight deadline and need to complete by 30th January - all the legal work is nearly done.

Does anyone know what the final checks are and how long they could take?

    Thanks

    As there has been little information about applications with Leeds so far, here's our experience!;

    11/12/14 - AIP via broker
    16/12/14 - FMA via broker
31/12/14 - Leeds request more documentation to prove credit card cleared 2 months ago as still showing on credit record
5/1/15 - Survey instructed, and more documentation requested from us (proof of our address in 2012)

This is for a new build shared ownership property and our 28 day exchange deadline is up next week (will be extended, but we need to move beginning of Feb.) Fingers crossed...

Aaaaand.... Mortgage offer issued today! 28 days bang on - this might just about be a record for Leeds, especially considering the holiday period?
  • Excited FTB here :)

Have had an AIP just before Christmas and another today. My financial advisor has just now submitted the full application. 85% LTV and I have a 20k deposit. I'm really nervous as I work for myself and have a ltd company the amount of paperwork has been massive.

    From HMRC website:

    Lost P60

If you've lost your P60 your employer can issue you with a duplicate - but this must be clearly marked as being so.

    ;)
I found our p60's tucked away in a drawer under a pile of socks!
Got them delivered to our mortgage advisor and bought a couple of plastic document boxes on the way home so I can start storing all my important bits of paper in a more organised way.
So our application is underway now and our broker can't see anything that would hold it up or cause any problems, but it's still an anxious wait.

My total timeline in the end is as follows:

    08/12/14-AIP via broker with Santander
    18/12/14-Offer accepted on property
    20/12/14-FMA with broker
    06/01/15-Mortgage Accepted, subject to valuation
08/01/15- Valuation complete and full mortgage offer issued
13/01/15- Receive Mortgage offer in post, full value offered, happy days!

Looks like my days in this thread are now over, my broker said today that I just need to sit back and let the solicitors work their magic. They already have draft contracts and the searches have been paid for and ordered which my broker was really impressed with. She estimates I will be in my house by late February which would just be fantastic!

Good Luck to everyone else! I hope you all get offers that you need to progress your own moves :)
Paid off my debts, saved up my cash and now I'm finally buying my own home!

Brilliant, my mortgage valuation was also 8/1. My broker has received the mortgage offer and they have agreed the full value. Not had my copy yet so hoping it will come tomorrow. It is such a relief isn't it?!

It's such a huge relief, I can't even put it in words, I'm just so happy that part is done now!

Me and the person I'm buying from are both chain free so I'm hoping it's plain sailing from here :rotfl:
