I had to wait 2 weeks after valuation. But they had made a mistake, so after a week of waiting I called them and they had failed to notice that my payslips had not been signed off, so it may be worth calling to check the progress. Nationwide were brilliant and really quick. The number I had was 0845 6093422 and I never had to even wait on hold when calling them!

Also - after getting the text saying I had an offer I called them immediately and they e-mailed me the offer so I didn't have to wait for the post to arrive to make sure it was the full amount :)

Ooo thank you :) if I don't hear anything by Friday then I shall give them a call, thanks!

Bit of an update on my wait from hell (little bit of an exaggeration)

08/05 Got an email from my Broker saying we should be have an update on Tuesday (13/05)... that will be 3 weeks after our DIP was given and we still don't even have a valuation date... should I get concerned?

13/05 As promised the broker updated me today, lender is apparently happy with the documentation and instructed a valuation. Was told that like Santander/Abbey, Accord apparently do not book a valuation unless they are happy with the application and it is really only the valuation that needs to be done. Can anyone confirm this?

I suppose now we have to play the waiting game with regards to a valuation appointment which is now down to the Surveyors and could apparently, potentially take weeks before we get an appointment.

I've another thread but I thought I'd post my time line here too as I'm currently waiting for a decision...

    Background:
Me – Self-employed two years of accounts averaging a salary of £24000
    Partner – teacher, £29000
    House - £250,000
    Deposit – 15%
    Lender Halifax

21/01 – Initial contact with MA who researched on advised mortgages based on the fact I’m self employed.
04/03 – Offer accepted on house.
07/03 – Full mortgage application submitted to Halifax
27/03 – Chased mortgage application. Discovered that Halifax had denied it several days before but the system had not updated and we had not been informed. Denied on affordability due to self-employment. MA advised us to resubmit application with 2013 – 2014 SA302 from HMRC.
    07/04 – Sent 2013 – 2014 self assessment to HMRC
30/04 – SA302 processed and faxed to MA.
01/05 – MA set Halifax my SA302 so they could reassess my income.
06/05 – Chased mortgage application. Discovered that Halifax had a problem with their systems and my whole application would need to be resubmitted.
07/05 – MA resubmitted application. DIP offered.
08/05 – Survey fee take from my bank account.
09/05 – Vender is under A LOT of pressure and stand to lose the property she is buying if we don’t complete ASAP. Asked mortgage adviser if Halifax could escalate our case. Halifax advised that they would only do this is they had a letter from the solicitors confirming our exchange date.
09/05 – Solicitors faxed letter to Halifax confirming and exchange date of 14/05 to escalate our case.
12/05 – MA informed me that the underwriters our looking as our application.
12/05 – Underwriters asked to see the projected self employed income for 2014 – 2015 which needs to be signed off by accountant.
12/05 – My accountant put the projection figures together (cost me a small fortune at such short notice), I emailed them to my MA.
13/05 – MA adviser submitted projection figures to the underwriters at Halifax and we’re waiting to hear back. Assuming they’ve ignored the solicitors letter informing them of the 14/05 exchange date as that’s TOMORROW!! Still no survey booked in.

8/5/2014 Surveyor happy with valuation and Natwest say full mortgage offer will be in place in next 48 hours :j:beer::money:

Was on here expecting weeks and months for natwest reading some reports, but from full application to full offer we're looking at 2 weeks
(ish) couldn't be happier, just waiting on the solicitors now

Spoke to mortgage broker today, asking if full offer had been issued. Was worried but she said yes the bank confirmed the full mortgage offer was issued on the 8th May and i should get it in the post before the end of the week. There was me thinking there was a problem. Therefore, the mortgage went from full application 26th April to full mortgage offer on the 8th May, that will be 7-8 working days, seems too good to be true, will remain slightly pessimistic till i get the keys though.:think:_pale_

After full application submitted on Friday we had a call this evening From Natwest advising everything is all fine at underwriting stage, just the valuation to go now which I've paid for tonight.

Very impressed by how quick Natwest have been, feel like I can relax now everything is ok at underwriting as I don't envisage any issues for valuation :)
