Number I got is 0845 302 0190, they just need your mortgage ref number which you should have been given on application (can be found on your kfi if not - should be a 8 digit number starting with 7)

We were never given this either.....may use it myself and by pass the MA if we don't hear about valuation outcome tomorrow

Thanks! That's brilliant - much appreciated

Here's to hoping for some (more) good news for us Natwest lot!

(Edit) - I did a "say no to 0870" search and got this freephone version off the back of the 0845 number - 0800 400999 (hopefully it works!)

    Good luck you two !
  • So I called the mortgage centre just now (the 0800 400999 nunber is fine - press 1 for this and that etc. And got through to somebody quite quick).

The chap was very pleasant and checked my application - "the underwriter has requested your past 2 years accounts" (I'm self employed), I explained that they should have them already (The chap enquired with the underwriter while I waited) - as expected, for some reason they didn't get them ...So I've emailed and left a voice mail with the in branch advisor asking if he could re-send the SA302's

I just rang them on the free phone number. Very helpful. They gave me an update and my ref number for future use. Said I will defiantly hear by tomorrow as surveyor has to update system within 48 hrs. And said it was done yesterday and not Friday as advised (i've been told different things by EA and MA) Was good to get a proper account of where we are at.
I'm not going to bother asking MA again, just going straight to NW

Good to have definitive clarification on where you stand isn't it!

I wanted to ask (you, spidereyes and the rest of the Natwest clan) ..did you pay for your valuation at the application stage? or did you pay any fees at all during the application day/stage?

As I've not paid any fees yet, and am wondering if I should have been asked to during the application ...(I know Halifax take the valuation fee on the app day)

We paid a survey Valuation fee £167 and admin fee £68 (about) and a fee to broker for their service. This was just when we got a DIP, just before full application.

I know some have been able to get the offer where the valuation is either free or added to mortgage. It depends on the type of mortgage/rate/length etc.
Maybe its that If you go through a broker you pay it on application, but if with you applied in branch MA you pay it after its approved.

Hopefully you're right, and they take payment once the underwriters are happy ...dreading to think how much longer that will be, I'd best get a future projections, month by month income spreadsheet and a pair of my socks ready for them!

I didnt pay anything upfront, I bank with Natwest and the MA said they could either take it from my account automatically when required if I wanted or they can call me and i can make payment by card which is what i opted for.
MA advised the product we were applying for (2yr fix for 85% ltv) didnt have any other fees so they only thing was the £167 valuation fee and £75 admin fee.

I noticed in your other post you mentioned you are self employed - so is my OH, hes only just been trading 2 years so we were somewhat worried if things would be accepted at underwriting stage, we just submitted 2 years certified accounts done by a regulated accountant.

If your having issues getting hold of MA maybe worth seeing if you can get a fax number from Natwest and fax the info over to them directly?

Would also add that as of today they are currently processing applications where further info was received from Friday 9th so looks like its about a 4 working day lead time at present from when they receive the additional info.

I also bank with Natwest, so that makes sense.

The in branch MA already has my AS302's, they just "didn't go through properly"
    - Did the underwriters request the 2 years certified accounts? (worrying they'll want the same from me and I'll have to ponce around with accountants as I have always returned my own SA online).
