Seems like Natwest are one of the slowest then. I'm paranoid/worried that they'll do the same and offer us 85% instead of 90%
Well the house was up for 99k i offered 95k and was valued at 90k
The EA really are crafty - they said that no way was the house was worth 90k so I said sorry can only get lending for 90k so vendors in the end accepted defeat.
It has been a complete nightmare if I am honest, still have not exchanged contracts either as local searches are taking 6 weeks!0 -
Nat West were slow yes, but my MA was useless - she applied for wrong amount initially - this held things up, then Nat West asked for stuff i Had already supplied, then when I did supply documents it was back to the 5 day queue in underwriting0

That's brutal! Hopefully not too long until you can exchange and complete! I'm dreading hearing back ...seems like this process I'm anticipating is never smooth!0 -
Full application submitted 26/4
Application accepted and instructed valuation of the property 30/4
8/5/2014 Surveyor happy with valuation and Natwest say full mortgage offer will be in place in next 48 hours :j:beer::money:
Was on here expecting weeks and months for natwest reading some reports, but from full application to full offer we're looking at 2 weeks
(ish) couldn't be happier, just waiting on the solicitors now :question:0 -

Fingers still crossed. I asked our broker to double-check with Halifax that all underwriting was done bar the valuation and this was confirmed. Seems odd given they've not asked for bank statements, credit checked my wife or called my employer.
Connells are also doing our valuation (yesterday)
EA said we should hear monday/tuesday.
I didn't get credit checked either but my husband did0 -
I finally got the keys to my new place yesterday after a long and stressful period getting a mortgage with Santander. First they got my name wrong, then kep requesting docs one by one. Also they were taking g ages. Escalated the case and complained to my broker who got their managers involved, so things got moving after then.
Good luck everyone. Keep pestering your bank/broker0 -

That's interesting, thanks. My wife has zero debt and an excellent credit rating but I'm staggered that they didn't even look!0 -
