07/05/2014 Called our broker and was told that Accord were in touch and once again asked the same question they already asked in the first week and already had the answer to... they don't instill confidence in me at all.

Can someone, ideally one of the resident IFAs/Mortgage Advisers on here, comment on whether applying for a mortgage with another lender in parallel is a big no no or feasible?

3rd April - First house viewing
4th April - Second house viewing - Offer places and accepted
5th April - Met with Estate Agents for affordability check
5th April - Online MIP made and received from Nationwide
    7th April - Solicitors instructed
9th April - Mortgage application made online with Nationwide
24th April - Home buyers survey completed and e-mailed report to us that day

Now waiting to hear if Nationwide will actually lend us the money........

My thinking was that everything was sorted before the Survey was done, so we would hear almost straight away... but it has only been two working days since they got the survey report >_< I'm so impatient!!!

7th May - Mortgage Offer!!!! YAYYYY

FTB 74% LTV, deposit from inheritance. 22yrs old, single application (absolutely bricking it) currently renting, tenancy ends 1/07

17/04 - AIP issued by Nationwide requesting more payslips etc (annoyingly fell on bank holiday)
22/04 - Mortgage application completed (text to confirm it has been received)
24/04 - text to say valuation is booked for 07/05!
07/05 - Estate Agent confirms the valuation has taken place

    *twiddles thumbs*

Any ideas how long it will be til I get the result of the survey?
and til I get a full mortgage offer? (then I will instruct my solicitor)

Those with Santander, good luck. It took me a month to get mine through them. Lots of back and forth with the underwriter. Went with a broker and kept getting them to chase the bank. Finally getting getting the keys to my place on Friday. ;-)

hey everyone I thought I would join in since I have been lurking on here the past few weeks! our process so far has been:

4th march- dip approved with Halifax
6th April- found new build house that we fell in love with, agreed offer with developers
13th April - help to buy Scotland application submitted
25th April - help to buy application approved with authority to proceed
1st May- new dip with Halifax due to mmr changes, full application submitted!

I suppose it's just a waiting game now! is it a good sign if the valuation fee is taken from your account? my broker said to keep an eye out for that and he seems to think we will be approved no problem. good luck everyone!

    update -
6th May - Valuation fee taken from accoint
7th May - emailed broker to ask when valuation will be. He said Halifax are in the process of instructing the valuation, but the sales office at my new build house are closed Tuesday and Wednesday so he will chase this up tomorrow and try and find out when it's taking place.

How long after Halifax valuation ,if all going well, do you normally receive an offer?
