08/05/14 Got an update from the broker, apparently the lender has now confirmed the receipt of the documents and the fees...over 1 week after everything was submitted and paid for. Was informed by the broker that we should get an update with regards to a valuation date next week.... I swear the stress of all this waiting around is going to age me by about 5 years.0

Hi all, Have also been lurking around reading this thread. We are FTB in Wales and looking for a 90% mortgage
21/03/2014 House first listed on rightmove asking price £144,950
22/03/2014 Viewed property for 1st time. I loved it but OH was ill so couldn't come with me
24/03/2014 2nd viewing. Still love it and OH loves it too but he wants to see it again.
26/03/2014 3rd viewing - decision made to make an offer
27/03/2014 Offer made of £142,000 and asked for property to be removed from market at this price due to level of interest. Offer rejected. Also told by EA that this property was only bought in Dec 2013 so had been owned for less than 6 months and some lenders will not borrow on this fact due to Money Laundering regs. I'd never heard of this before so it ruled out going with Post Office for mortgage who was out 1st choice.
27/03/2014 2nd offer for full asking price and removal from market accepted!!:j Solicitor chosen and appointed
31/03/2014 Meeting with mortgage advisor who suggested we try with Nationwide.
02/04/2014 AIP received from NW. Full application made
03/04/2014 NW will only offer us 85% LTV. MA suggest we try Virgin Money
14/04/2014 Application sent to Virgin via MA
24/04/2014 AIP and application agreed. They have requested P60's from us both and card details to take booking fee and valuation fee
25/04/2014 MA advises me Survey booked for 29/04/2014:j
I really hope this goes through for us soon. I think the vendors are getting a bit impatient!! Fingers crossed:)
Valuation ok. Text from MA yesterday to say application is in processing and due to be dealt with within 48 hours
The wait is killing me!!0 -

Applying with Halifax as the only High St lender who'll look at someone with payday loan activity on their credit report even over 12 months ago
14/4: DIP
15/4: Offer accepted
16/4: Full application, survey fees paid
16/4: Broker advised we'd passed credit checks and application was to be processed
25/4: Additional search appears on my credit file
28/4: Broker advised they hope to find out if we've passed underwriting, survey apart, this week
30/4: Chased surveyors to find that Halifax had booked it on Monday and was referred to Connells (as they had better availability) today so survey should be booked today/tomorrow
Hopefully the fact that they've obviously spent time looking at our application prior to booking the survey means all is well and we're just waiting on the valuation.
Fingers crossed.
Survey was done this morning. How soon can I chase the surveyor?
Fingers still crossed. I asked our broker to double-check with Halifax that all underwriting was done bar the valuation and this was confirmed. Seems odd given they've not asked for bank statements, credit checked my wife or called my employer.0 -
11th April - AIP referred with Principality but broker reckons it's due to issue with partners name, gives AIP cert to us.
22nd April - First viewing, partner and I loved it
25th April - First offer made
28th April - Offer rejected but had second viewing anyway. Vendor gave price they're looking for, we thought meet in middle and upped our offer.
30th April - 2nd offer rejected, still said they're wanting price given last time. Decided we really want the house so agreed and it was accepted :j Appointment with mortgage advisor made.
Bit of an update!
1st May - Application made, passed credit check and they had no issue with partners name.
6th May - Decided to risk it, instructed conveyancers even though no answer on mortgage yet. Hopefully get things going quicker and it'll pay off. Repo so need things done asap.
8th May - Broker advised app with underwriters, mortgage valuation booked for Monday 12th! :j0 -

1/5 mortgage application submitted in branch with Nationwide
(asked for one months payslip & last months bank statement)
2/5 received text to say valuation will be on 15/5
Fingers crossed now! Good luck to everyone else.
Update
7/5 money taken out of account for valuation
8/5 call from nationwide querying payslip. Thought they'd do this before booking & taking payment for valuation! Waiting to hear back now....0 -
hey everyone I thought I would join in since I have been lurking on here the past few weeks! our process so far has been:
4th march- dip approved with Halifax
6th April- found new build house that we fell in love with, agreed offer with developers
13th April - help to buy Scotland application submitted
25th April - help to buy application approved with authority to proceed
1st May- new dip with Halifax due to mmr changes, full application submitted!
I suppose it's just a waiting game now! is it a good sign if the valuation fee is taken from your account? my broker said to keep an eye out for that and he seems to think we will be approved no problem. good luck everyone!
update -
6th May - Valuation fee taken from accoint
7th May - emailed broker to ask when valuation will be. He said Halifax are in the process of instructing the valuation, but the sales office at my new build house are closed Tuesday and Wednesday so he will chase this up tomorrow and try and find out when it's taking place.
How long after Halifax valuation ,if all going well, do you normally receive an offer?
Update again!
8th May - call from broker saying Halifax are doing the valuation tomorrow!
9th May - valuation taking place.0 -

We had the 2/3 hour meeting yesterday with the mortgage lender after having an AIP with them since last month. Both of our credit checks came back as 'excellent' (confirmed yesterday during the meeting). Neither of us have ever taken out any commerical/payday loans etc. (Although, I do have a small amount left to pay on an 'income contingent' student loan - but this didn't seem like anything to worry about when I mentioned it to the MA yesterday).
Hopefully we hear something/get an answer within the next week (but I know it may take longer from reading some of your experiences).
5/4/2014 - Viewed property and offer made on same day.
8/4/2014 - AIP given by lender.
11/4/2014 - Revised offer accepted (after some days of negotiating).
14/4/2014 - Solicitors instructed.
22/4/2014 - Property taken off market.
30/4/2014 - Meeting with mortgage lender, information passed to underwriters etc.
Here's to hoping we can secure the mortgage! I underestimated how stressful and worrying the homebuying process would be.
An update (well, not really) ...
7/5/2014 - I still hadn't heard anything back from the bank, so decided to email the MA - "just waiting for the documents you bought in to be scanned on the system, I have refaxed the paperwork just in case there are any issues, but I will keep checking".
9/5/2014 - Still no word, I know I'm being a bit impatient, but it's difficult watching you lot progressing so quickly, especially as most of you are getting valuations booked in within a week of the MA meeting! Especially as I've had no news regarding the booking of the valuation etc.
Wondering whether to email the MA again? ...getting worried!0
