  • I've been told we've been accepted for full amount by Natwest! Yay.

Bank holiday post seems to have slowed the paperwork, but so relieved that equifax, banks and t-mobiles !!!! ups didn't destroy our application....

Text from Nationwide - formal offer in the post. Look forward to completing based on this offer.

Think this is good! Wait until I see it in paper and offer is what I applied for!

    Still nervous...

Saturday 29/3/14 More viewings on our house
Monday 31/3/14 Accepted offer on our house (cash buyer)
Friday 4/4/14 Viewed house to purchase (empty house)
Saturday 5/4/14 Offer accepted on house to purchase
Monday 7/4/14 Purchaser's survey booked for Thursday 17/4
Thursday 10/4/14 All paperwork to fill/sign received from solicitor
Friday 11/4/14 Broker paid, app gone in to Halifax
    .

Monday 14/4/14Paperwork taken to solicitors and paid £200 deposit for searches. Valuation fee taken by Halifax.
    Tuesday 15/4/14Halifax completed valuation
Thursday 17/4/14Re-submit a couple bits of paperwork Halifax said didn't scan properly. Valuation received in the post, agreeing with our offer.

    VERY long bank holiday weekend

Tuesday 22/4/14 broker expected to hear by end of today. Phone call at 8pm saying he had a couple of snags - offer came back a bit lower, but he added something they hadn't taken into account, and then the computer said yes straight away! He said paperwork should be with us in a few days.
Does that sound like the way the Halifax system works? Can I actually sleep tonight???????

Our valuation survey was scheduled to take place yesterday, but I have yet to hear anything - survey company was supposed to email me a copy of the report. How long does that normally take?

We're with HSBC who do things in a different order so we have already received a formal mortgage offer, but I'm still worried about the valuation. We're in London so had to offer over the odds to secure the property. It's also in an area where prices have been rising very quickly so I'm worried if the surveyor just looks at recent sales they may decide we offered too much.

I was just going to ask this. I'm with hsbc and have had an offer through the post but no word on the valuation which took place last Thursday. How long did it take you and did you have a standard valuation?

    At last.
    One more hurdle
    Application in 19th March = 5weeks +

Standard Valuation(free with Abbey) to be organised......
(with £995 fee for 2 yr fixed at 2.24% through L&C)
Need our sellers to move out as the property they have made offer on is at standstill as owners have not found a suitable property, they are now actively looking again for another hopefully chainfree property...................................hope its is sorted before mortgage expires :)

Well done to all here, patience is the key but persistence keeping up to date with lenders and home owners and estate agents to push plus solicitors, ......is required, as you all know this is a stressful process+++++++ Hang on in there every1.

Hi all, Have also been lurking around reading this thread. We are FTB in Wales and looking for a 90% mortgage

21/03/2014 House first listed on rightmove asking price £144,950
22/03/2014 Viewed property for 1st time. I loved it but OH was ill so couldn't come with me
24/03/2014 2nd viewing. Still love it and OH loves it too but he wants to see it again.
26/03/2014 3rd viewing - decision made to make an offer
27/03/2014 Offer made of £142,000 and asked for property to be removed from market at this price due to level of interest. Offer rejected. Also told by EA that this property was only bought in Dec 2013 so had been owned for less than 6 months and some lenders will not borrow on this fact due to Money Laundering regs. I'd never heard of this before so it ruled out going with Post Office for mortgage who was out 1st choice.
27/03/2014 2nd offer for full asking price and removal from market accepted!!:j Solicitor chosen and appointed
31/03/2014 Meeting with mortgage advisor who suggested we try with Nationwide.
02/04/2014 AIP received from NW. Full application made
03/04/2014 NW will only offer us 85% LTV. MA suggest we try Virgin Money
14/04/2014 Application sent to Virgin via MA
24/04/2014 AIP and application agreed. They have requested P60's from us both and card details to take booking fee and valuation fee
25/04/2014 MA advises me Survey booked for 29/04/2014:j

I really hope this goes through for us soon. I think the vendors are getting a bit impatient!! Fingers crossed:)
