Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Our valuation survey was scheduled to take place yesterday, but I have yet to hear anything - survey company was supposed to email me a copy of the report. How long does that normally take?
We're with HSBC who do things in a different order so we have already received a formal mortgage offer, but I'm still worried about the valuation. We're in London so had to offer over the odds to secure the property. It's also in an area where prices have been rising very quickly so I'm worried if the surveyor just looks at recent sales they may decide we offered too much.0 -
Update - just called the survey company who have emailed me a copy of the valuation report, and it came back at our offer price. So looks like our mortgage is officially approved :j0

Congrats!:)
Spoke to my surveyor after he had looked at the house this morning, he said it was a 'nice little house' and structurally sound.
he did confirm certain things for me that I planned to do - ask seller for more recent boiler check and request that electrician looks at the property (there are some old sockets, I think these are no longer wired).
He mentioned damp, and that this needs to be looked at. It's a Victorian terrace so not a huge surprise, I will have to wait and see if he thinks this means that I've offered too much and need to re-negotiate!
So much more to think about then when I brought my flat!0 -

10/02/14 - written offer sent
11/02/14 - we are taking the documents to our broker so full application going in tomorrow!! aahhhh

YAYYYYquite a quick process
Soooo further update....
28/03/14 - Solicitors advised we should back out of said property due to previous owners being in negative equity
29/03/14 - Went to see a new build property and put down a reservation fee
We then looked into the Help To Buy scheme applied for this
17/04/14 - We got confirmation we have been accepted for the HTB scheme
23/04/14 - Our mortgage application went in with Nationwide and today I have received emails confirming valuation is booked for 25/04/14.
This is way too much of a stressful process. I thought it went too smoothly first time around!!!! Soo I am back in the waiting game0 -

08/04 - called agents to arrange viewing
11/04 - first viewing with attempted poker faces to hide our delight at how many boxes this pre-owned property ticked :T
13/04 - went back to vendor direct to see about a second viewing (invited us back after first viewing). He wasn't in so cheekily left a note and number. Texted to arrange second viewing.
14/04 - second viewing with parent in tow. Still loved it.
15/04 - emailed mortgage docs to 'our guy' at Yorkshire Bank and text vendor saying we were offering and called agents to formally put it in. With a bit of back and forth we got to a price but he needed time to think about it
16/04 - wanted more time :eek: however 9pm I got a text from the vendor saying he would be calling the agents in the morning to accept our offer :j:D
17/04 - mortgage telephone appointment booked in for 23/04.
23/04 - mortgage appointment was successful in the end, their computer system crashed so couldn't tell us yes or no until what became 5 hours later! But it's all under way now.
Making progress and still smiling...0 -
The valuation is today! Hopefully Leeds is quick once they get the information...0

So we got a phone call on 29th March saying we have the offer but it will take 2-3 weeks to be sent out. Its nearly 3 weeks and we are STILL waiting for it! Heard from MA last week trying to sell us buildings insurance and she said our offer is currently with the packaging department and we should recieve it early this week (well that hasn't happened) Tried ringing the MA today and she's on A/L until the 28th!
Anyone else had to wait this long?? I'm not a very patient person
23/04 Finally received our mortgage offer through the post. At long last! Phew!
Solicitors have received the draft contract from our vendors solicitor and are waiting for searches to come back, so slowly getting there.TTC since September 20150
