So we got a phone call on 29th March saying we have the offer but it will take 2-3 weeks to be sent out. Its nearly 3 weeks and we are STILL waiting for it! Heard from MA last week trying to sell us buildings insurance and she said our offer is currently with the packaging department and we should recieve it early this week (well that hasn't happened) Tried ringing the MA today and she's on A/L until the 28th!

Anyone else had to wait this long?? I'm not a very patient person :(

That does seem like a long time. I know post in the UK is poor, but not that bad!!!?
How come they gave the 3 weeks lead time?
    Was the valuation carried out?
Does the MA not have a manager or something you can talk to?

No she didn't give a reson for the 2-3 weeks time frame, im assuming its because there's a bit of a back log at the mo. We had another key facts illustration (also got one when we applied) through the post a week a go but that's all we have had so far.

Yes the valuation was carried out on the 24th March and we recieved the report that same week.

Well on her voicemail she has given a number to call whilst she is away, so I think i'll see if anything arrives in the post this weekend, if not will be calling this person on Tuesday.

I'd call them now, as much as I normally give people the benefit of the doubt, I've learnt a lesson not to recently!

    Update:
1 January- Got a DIP (technically a "mortgage certificate") from Coventry building society

In between we found a new build home that we liked (unexpected and weren't looking for a new build), which eliminated Coventry as an option.

20 March - Sent PIF and reservation form into Help to Buy agent for the Equity Loan Scheme
21 March - Reserved plot and paid reservation fee
22 March - Received ATP letter from Help to Buy agent
25 March - Did a formal mortgage application with Leeds Building Society, which was successful (first computer bit, not to underwriter yet). Broker has payslips, etc.
28 March - Full documents formally sent in to Leeds (25th was the step with computer credit check apparently).
11 April 2014 - Leeds asked for my last three months of bank statements. They already had these but it had been so long since submission of documents that they were now missing the last month. Documents provided.
14 April 2014 - The builder asked what was going on and I blamed Leeds.

I'm getting quite fed up with Leeds Building Society, they seem rubbish! Today they came back and now asked for proof of my current address three years ago!?!? Why they didn't ask this when they asked for additional bank statements is beyond me. At this rate I'll lose my property reservation, which expires
    tomorrow.

Every time they ask for more documents you go to the bottom of the pile, too.

Edit: Apparently they instructed valuation today, so perhaps it is moving forward.

Joint application buying a property under the help to buy (scotland) scheme with Taylor Wimpey in Edinburgh.

    Our timeline so far:

19/03 - Mortgage agreed in principle with Halifax
20/03 - 01/04 Negotiating incentives with Taylor Wimpey. Squeezed as much as I could out of them. Reserved plot
01/04 - Appointed a solicitor which is working out at £1147 (compared to other quotes c. £1600)
02/04 - Halifax mortgage adviser submits Link Help to Buy application form.
10/04 - Halifax mortgage meeting. Full application submitted

Now just impatiently waiting on Link coming back via email with their decision. Currently 10 working days turnaround which will be Wed 16/04 latest.

Can't stand this waiting game. :wall:

    Update:

Wed 16/04 - Authority to proceed from Link
Thus 17/04 - Taylor Wimpey sent an email to advise property was surveyed by mistake so we don't have to wait till next week :D

    another update and almost there
12th Feb - offer accepted on house
25th Feb - Broker AIP with skipton (previous AIP wit different lender but they upped the interest rate)
2nd March - Broker submits full app with skipton
5th March - All documents sent from broker to skipton
13th March - Skipton ask for outstanding student loans balance via broker, provided info to them the same day.
17th March - call skipton directly for an update to say it will be another 4-5 working days before they can look at our documents
18th March - ask for valuation to be progressed whilst they look at our application
19th march - valuation can be completed on the 29th match
    20th march - valuation completed
21st March - good news this morning hear back that we've been approved for the mortgage after our application :j
21st March - the afternoon brings some slight bad news. They've valued the house at 5k (2%) under what we've offered because of the condition of the non attached garage. We also need to arrange a full electrical and damp proof report.
28th March - Receive the damp and electrical report showing approx 2k worth of work needs to be carried out.
29th March - reports sent to mortgage company and given the usual answer of "it'll be 5 working days before we look at your documents". So yet more waiting
7th April - Today is Monday and we were told on Thursday that our updated valuation would be looked at on Friday. When we phone Skipton they say it'll be the back end of the week before they look at it. We have a moan to our MA and Skipton.
8th April - Mortgage offer confirmed and solicitors and us should have what we need by the end of the week :j

17th April - Contracts signed and CHAPS payment scheduled for deposit.

Contracts will be exchanged on the 22nd and we'll complete on the 29th April.
