Well, I can honestly say that our broker is a useless piece of dog do.

I am absolutely fuming at the moment, as he has clearly done jack all since he submitted the app and ignores all communication until we pester him.

He replied yesterday saying it should be issued yesterday and guess what!!!! no offer. He has ignored us again today so we phoned the building society directly and they have requested some information from the surveyor and the offer will now not be anywhere near offered until the middle of next week.

Complaint letter being sent once the offer is received as I will get my £150 back. I don't care how much work he has done(not)

    So angry

Answer is back from surveyors and our broker has claimed that they may issue the offer today.

As per the above I am not holding out much hope of it being today but will keep our fingers crossed.

Personally, I think it will be Thursday as it will then count towards their August lending target, unless they are going to fall short this month.

Finally heard back, valuation is booked for Thursday!

Here's my timeline so far... Buying a new build on help to buy scheme

    7/7 - viewed flat
    10/7 - AIP through broker
    11/7 - paid reservation fee
15/7 - sent help to buy loan application
22/7 - received approval for loan
23/7 - full application in with natwest
25/7 - valuation instructed and fees taken
    1/8 - valuation

As its a new build and the last one to be sold I'm hoping there will be no issues with the valuation!

Your timeline is very similar to mine! Fingers crossed :) My valuation is on 2nd August but apparently the same valuer is going on Thursday so they might do it then?!

How soon after the valuation do you usually hear?

Hi, our valuation was instructed on 25th also but I have not heard back since if a date has been booked. How did you find out? I am using an IFA and so far had no direct contact with NatWest.

We heard nothing from NatWest after they instructed our valuation, so I had to ring them yesterday to chase them up and they then told me that the valuation had been booked on the 6th August. I don't think they tell you, unless you ask! Do you have your mortgage account reference number? If so, just give them a ring because it's probably already been booked!

I applied to NatWest by phone last Monday 22nd July, paperwork arrived Wednesday, took documents into branch Thursday, got a phone call today to tell me the survey fee had been taken & the survey (L&G) instructed with the report due 5 days after survey.

    Am getting decidedly excited!

My broker told me, I also haven't had not contact with natwest at all! But I guess that's normal when going through a broker?

I am getting annoyed with Natwest now, have just had a call for them to say that they still have not received a correctly certified copy of my husband's passport even though we have been to the branch twice. They need to see it before they can issue an offer (valuation and survey done and on the phone they said they were happy with the valuation). which i understand but it seems that the staff at the branch are incompetent. I even asked if it would be better for me to send it directly to them and the girl on the phone said if i want to take the risk :(

    Sorry rant over

Just had a phone call from the building society asking if we wanted a quote for buildings insurance.

Must mean we are close to being offered something.

    It arrived.

One minor issue in that our useless broker never advised them we had changed our solicitor, so we are ringing them today, as our solicitor is on their panel anyway and want them to appoint ours.
