Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

We're currently going through the LIFT scheme (Scotland) to buy a property. DIP was given 5 weeks ago then updated on Friday for a higher amount. Passed that with no issues. Offer submitted on a property on Friday afternoon (fixed price and owned by a home builder company as the current owner part exchanged)
Waiting for a decision on our offer ( solicitor seemed positive) then we can proceed with our full application. Mortgage is technically 60% LTV so im hoping it all goes smoothly. OH has had previous bad credit but everything is now off his record.
FTB and very nervous. Being 34 weeks pregnant isnt helping either :rotfl:0 -
We are awaiting decision and our our is empty.
Didn't quite understand why people say that moving house is stressful. I do now! We were moved by my Wife's employer 8 years ago - how I wish we were doing that again.
I feel battered and bruised by estate agents, solicitors and the Building Society. Request one thing, wait a week, request another. Lose our documents and put us to the bottom of the pile. Call centres - not being able to deal with a person. The list goes on.
There must be an easier way!
This is what is worrying me. I have not been asked for a single additional thing by NatWest, the full application went in, they instructed valuation (done yesterday) and thats it. Not really heard anything from Solicitors either, she is away now till 12th Aug but I have forwarded my email to her assistant. I just really want to know if a chain has been formed :mad:FTB

My major concern is that I am married, but I have applied solely. My husband will be living there but we applied in my name only has he had some old bad debt and just started a new job. Surely they are going to ask why we have not applied jointly? But when? My biggest fear is being declined right before completion!FTB

I have applied in a single name. they haven't asked why my wife isn't on the mortgage. it seems very common for a single application when married, my broker didn't bat an eyelid when i sent all the information to him.0 -
Our valuation was carried out at 9:30 this morning...I just rung Natwest and they have nothing on their system yet! How long does it normally take for a result?0

Hi, really enjoyed reading this thread, its been a lot of help.
I originally applied for a Nationwide mortgage, got the mortgage in principle ok but when we went to apply for the full mortgage we got rejected as my partner is self employed. We had no choice but to go to a mortgage broker for help.
28th July - Decided on a Halifax mortgage
30th July - Applied for the Halifax mortgage
6th August - Valuation agreed for tomorrow :j
Fingers crossed everything goes well for tomorrow and we can start the process!
Good luck everyone!!0 -

Depends who NatWest have used. For my NatWest application they instructed Esurv. Esurv sent me a letter saying they had been instructed to carry out the valuation so I rang them to see when it was booked. They said it takes 3 days for valuation report and 5 days for Homebuyers report.FTB

Both the valuer and the bank both said they send\get the report on the same day it is done ie today, and that it goes to the underwriter to review the valuation report and issue an offer; this takes 2-3 days.
In theory we should both get an offer by the end of the week if no issues with valuation. Mine is a new build so I am hoping all is well.
Keep us up to date and I will do the same ... good luck ;-)0 -
I intially applied for a mortgage in May and got a decision in principle on the 24th May. I paid the arrangement (£400) and booking fee (£99) on a 4 year fixed mortgage at a rate of 3.99% and then reverting back to SVR.
Since then the rate on the same product has gone down to 3.74% fixed for 4 years. The bank has offered me to go on that rate at a further cost of £99. is this worth it? In the 4 year terms it saves £480 over the 4 year period (in reality it'll save £282 when taking account the £99 fee I've already paid and the further £99 fee i will have to pay again to come on the lower rate)
I will be putting 15% deposit down on house costing 89,000. I would have initially gone for first direct which is fixed at 3.79% for 5 years and fee free but I was told that they were very strict with they terms.0
