If it will save you anything over the term than yes I would say its worth it. Also, the first £99 charge you would have paid anyway so if I've understood correctly its only the second £99charge which should be taken off the total saving of £480. I'd do it if it were me.0

Depends who NatWest have used. For my NatWest application they instructed Esurv. Esurv sent me a letter saying they had been instructed to carry out the valuation so I rang them to see when it was booked. They said it takes 3 days for valuation report and 5 days for Homebuyers report.
Cheers Peyton. I realised my post came across as very impatient!! Ours was done my Legal & General, and Natwest have now said we will be given the result in two working days...so nervous!0 -
Hi Jessica, I am going with Natwest and my valuation was done this afternoon by Connells (I am in the midlands) .
Both the valuer and the bank both said they send\get the report on the same day it is done ie today, and that it goes to the underwriter to review the valuation report and issue an offer; this takes 2-3 days.
In theory we should both get an offer by the end of the week if no issues with valuation. Mine is a new build so I am hoping all is well.
Keep us up to date and I will do the same ... good luck ;-)
We are literally at the same stage now! Ours is a period cottage, so likely to have some form of retention
Good luck Swanny!0 -
I will join the group:-)
DIP 2 weeks ago and today my broker has put in the full application (for what turns out is less than the DIP).
So the waiting game it is now for the yes/no/more information please!0 -

I am on my last straw of patience too. The only thing keeping me sane is this forum and realising everyone is in the same boat. I had word back from my solicitors and they only wrote to the vendors solicitors for the paperwork on Friday, so as one torture is nearing an end another has only just begun! Oh the joys of being a potential FTB

myn went for exchange of contract Monday, trust me its turned me greyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Just had my mortgage offer from Halifax come through (valuation was undertaken on Monday - 5/8/13)
In the letter they have said they have valued the property at £188,000 which is the offer we put in for hte property. If the property was worth more would they have said that or do they not go any higher?
Just need to wait for the homebuyers report now.0 -

I was wondering the same! Mine came in at £195,000 and that is what I am paying however we got them down from £209,000 and it is the cheapest sold on the estate so far!0
