Ok we are back on it.
3/3 Had mortgage offer.
4/3 was Guzumped! Pulled out!
15/3 Offer accepted on new property
17/3 Mortgage advisor and solicitors updated.
Now we are using the same mortgage company however it is for a larger amount but same LTV. Anyone know if it will be a quicker process this time or if we have to start again from the beginning with the underwriting etc?0 -
Well Nat West are really slow at the minute.
Rang my Broker yesterday and apparently Nat West computer system was down all day yesterday.
My docs were packaged up 2 weeks ago now and have not heard anything - losing the will to carry on now.
(UPDATE)
Broker spoke to Nat West - my case won't be worked on until Friday at the earliest - thats 3 weeks - I need something to occupy my mind because this is bordering on crazy!0 -

I'm experiencing similar frustrations with Skipton it's been 2 weeks and they won't be looking at our extra info until Thursday or Friday this week0 -

We've just had our full mortgage interview with Santander in-branch, and have had our full application sent to the underwriters today. We're applying direct as L&C were our brokers but weren't able to advise on the HTB mortgage we wanted as it had been withdrawn from the intermediaries market (apparently).
Anyway, the mortgage advisor in Santander was very thorough and made sure she made notes on our application of any tiny thing that the underwriters might query, just to cover all the bases and hopefully expedite things a bit.
We started the process over the phone on the 6th March, but it would've taken someone until this Friday (10 days from AIP) to call to do the full interview. Anyway, I'm so glad we went in-branch as I can't imagine answering all those questions and explaining finances over the phone.
One thing I wasn't sure of is whether the underwriters perform a credit check? The main reason I ask is because she did one there and then, and it came back fine. I'm concerned about too many footprints on our file! Also, if they've already done a full check I wouldn't see the need to do another one? Although logic doesn't seem to play much part in the mortgage application process!
We were told that she would hope to hear back from the underwriters by Friday (21st), which I thought was a bit optimistic. When we politely queried this timescale she advised that as we'd gone directly in-branch, provided all the docs & gone through the full application there and then, that she'd hope for Friday. I'll keep you updated...officially bricking it right now!DS - 08/15

Have you tried calling them direct? Mortgage advisor told me today no update ... Called then myself and they advised me home report transcript received and all ok there just reviewing the last bits of paperwork that I've sent in and I should know by Friday at the latest... Not sure why we pay a mortgage advisor find out more info myself.. Anyway

I've been feeling like this lately too! Often can't contact our MA via phone so call our lender for an update. Then if they need anything it has to go through our MA not directly from us adding yet more time to an already slow process.0
