At the moment, it is taking them three working days to issue an application number after a case is submitted.
Then, it takes them several days to undewrite the case and instruct the valuer.
Our last case;-
App date 23/2
BDM got us app number 25/2
All docs faxed 25/5
App number provided by usual email 26/2
Told case would be underwritten by Fri 28/2 - not achieved
Asked NatWest to instruct valuer at our risk 28/2 as not yet underwritten
Valuer instructed 3/3
Valuation done 6/3
Surveyor off sick and return of report delayed until 11/3
Offer issued 12/3.
Seventeen days is not great and it could have been done more quickly IMHO.
Well app made with Nat West over 2 weeks ago, they have had my docs 2 weeks on Monday - still haven't heard a dickie bird0 -
We submitted our full application with Halifax yesterday afternoon. Great service. Let me know how you get on!
will do! Our broker applied himself with them this week and said they were fab - hoping their smooth transaction happens to us too, would save a lot of extra paperwork and worry!
Fingers crossed, good luck to you!0 -
3/1 - view house, surprised how much we like it.
6/1 - view again.
8/1 - offers rejected.
16/1 - sealed bids.
17/1 - lose sealed bid.
24/2 - house comes back on market - offer accepted same day.
1/3 - view again to look at the issues pulled buyer had highlighted.
6/3 - Broker visits.
7/3 - Mortgage application made to NatWest
13/3 - application accepted and sent to underwriters
15/03 - been asked for proof of deposit. Annoyingly need to order one statement for an ISA.When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -

Hi Kingstreet,
You was running on similar timeline to mine, however you seemed to have sped it up by instructing the valuation prior to approval. I was debating whether to do this myself.
22/02/2014 - Application submitted to Natwest
25/02/2014 - Reference received and application in the system
26/02/2014 - MA faxed evidence to Natwest
27/02/2014 - Evidence accepted, awaiting underwriter decision for valuation
03/03/2014 - Proof of deposit required, sent in same day
04/03/2014 - Proof of deposit received into system, advised to wait 48 hours to process again
06/03/2014 - Mortgage application accepted based on valuation and valuation instructed
07/03/2014 - Valuation booked for 14th March
14/04/2014 - Valuation done
Hoping for the offer next week :T0 -

Saw my broker last wednesday.
He emailed me this morning saying my mortgage had been accepted subject to survey which is booked for tomorrow!
This is from Halifax. Happened a lot quicker than I was expecting.0
