  • My ex husband has now got an offer but has advised me that it's unlikely he'll now complete on his offer in time for my completion The reason that there will be a delay is that the current offer with Halifax will cost him an extra £10k a year. He is now awaiting a valuation form another lender for an offer. He has said that it best we push back the completion date. He’s even had the nerve to suggest that we either give the vendor the deposit, get a bridging loan or push back the date.

I have advised him of the legal ramification from our side, but also from his as there is a date set with Family court on the 12th March.

He has a solicitor, but has said there is nothing for him to do until the new offer comes through, but I have again asked that his solicitor call my solicitor, for clarification on our situation. And there is so much he could be getting on with.

Due to the pressures my mother has asked if being a guarantor would help any. She has two properties in London which are both basically mortgage free (approx. 5 years left) and also property in Florida.

I just don't know now what to do. Do I look at Bridging loans, which are very expensive. Broker looking at any possibilities but I need to make sure my offer is not in jeopardy in any way

    Hi
Well by the grace of God we completed on Tuesday 4th. Monday was panic stations as our solicitor only then got around to send us our bill so Tuesday was first in line at the bank sending CHAPS payment. Then later vendor fuming as funds not received by the time he had wanted (12.30). He went on to tell us that he would be telling his solicitor to push for a Sale of Completion order, meaning we would pay for his drivers / delays. In all that the BT engineer turns up. Appt between 1 and 6pm and she turns up at 12.30. The mad vendor then gets abusive and drags her down the stairs. Engineer then tells him she's calling the police. He then calls us to hurry up the transfer (but it had already left our solicitors) as he wants to leave. Due to his behaviour wasn't happy to meet him to have the keys handed over and we called the EA. She then has a word with him, and informs him that we in fact completed 20 mins before.Drama... but we are so, so happy we got the keys. And have spent the last few days shopping like crazy, as we have nothing for a home.Good luck to all going through this awful, awful buying process.

14/02 valuation satisfactory (vendors still away:cool:)

:j:j:j:jOFFER APPROVED IN THE POST :j:j:j:j

Nearly 4 weeks later and the purchase house has incorrect deed information, got to be sorted. My buyers are being silly plonkers over planned work in the communal areas. Believe me waiting for the mortgage is the least stressful part to be honest! Wanted to move 28/3 doubt that will happen!! :(

So even though we have our offer both by email and post, the solicitor is still waiting for a search, due back on the 20th! Gah! Why wasn't this mentioned before?!

Its awful isn't it? I hate waiting so much, I have convinced myself of every possible negative outcome. The day I get the keys will be the day I'm happy its all going to go through.

    Have you heard anything yet?

got a call from Mb this morning 10 AM saying application has passed and has gone to final underwriting checks and should hear about survey today! naturally i thought that's great news. At 4:20pm he called me back and said the bank will offer me £194,000 and not the £200,000 that we got AIP for! how does that happen? We have had to send my partners feb payslip also now and hes appealing the decision.I don't feel confident at all now :(

It's gone to the underwriters today! Broker reckons should hear back within three, possibly two days! So nervous can't help feeling really negative about it though
