    14/02 Offer in principal
    14/02 Offer made and accepted
    14/02 Instructed Solicitor
18/02 Met with MA again, gave P60 and pay slips etc and completed full application paper work
    19/02 Recieved paperwork from solicitors
19/02 Full application for mortgage submitted

    And so we wait!

28/02 Further info required by the mortgage company.
    06/03 Valuation taking place
  • Am patiently (or trying to be ) waiting here as well. 90% Skipton Mortgage in Scotland

    25/02 Offer on House accepted
    27/2 AIP accepted
    27/2 Application Submitted

I am so nervous. Am really worried it is going to be a no. Been told will be at least a 2 week wait so half way there on the wait.

Has anyone else had experience with Skipton and how long it normally takes to get a decision?

Okay - here goes nothing. Will be good to see it typed out I guess in a few months from now.
    28/11 - viewed house
28/11 - AIP given by HSBC
30/11 - 2nd house viewed - already had an offer on, so had to decide where to put offers. Offer put in with request of a quick decision.
2/12 - Offer accepted. Mortgage application completed.
3/12 - Paperwork requested taken to branch

17/12 - letter received asking for ID which they already had on file.
30/12 - rang to chase "just going to be passed to credit dept" - decision in 3 - 4 working days. Will call you by Friday 3rd Jan with a decision
6/1/14 - still nothing, so rang to be told that they were "just going to be passed to credit dept" - decision in 3 - 4 working days :eek::eek:

After whinging, mortgage formally approved by phone @3.30pm
Surveyors rang to confirm EAs details to make an appt for survey.

7/1/14-Surveyors rang EA - vendors details passed on. EA rang us to confirm contact made. EA said surveyors want to do job by 16th January.
8/1/14 - Contract package received (minus F+F form)
    9/1/14 - Contract package returned
13/1/14 - Rang EA to ask when survey was booked. After phone tennis with EA and vendor and surveyor today, 24th Jan booked. :( 16th Jan no longer possible due to vendor lack of contact (according to EA)
17/1/14 - Fixtures and fittings form received. Query over cooker being left. Query resolved 20 Jan
24/1/14 - HB survey done. Valuation validates sale price :j Evidence of woodworm and asbestos found :(
3/2/14 - woodworm specialist in to check. Woodworm is historical :D
4/2/14 - asbestos man going in to do his checks.

6/2/14-asbestos shows historical asbestos in ceiling panels, which is fine if left undisturbed and precautions taken if drilling into it. All fine there.
11/2/14 Ready to exchange :D on purchase but house sale, of which equity is needed, which should have been completed before Christmas is holding things up. Solicitors are slower than snails.
6/3/14 Solicitors still haven't exchanged on our sale due to 4th set of buyer enquiries being sent over today. Ridiculous. Now in week 17 since accepting cash buyers offer...

Don't use Convey Law people - my buyer is and I wish he wasn't.

Anyone else experiencing delay waiting for a decision from santander? I have a dip how likely is it that they will refuse my application? Went through a broker and went for a help to buy mortgage 8% deposit- mortgage of 169995. I checked my credit files before applying and have excellent score with all three agencies however I'm worried becaus I used my overdraft in the previous three months before applying (not to it's limit and only on the oldest two months) they will fail me on affordability. I think my ma is sick of me worrying but we sent our application in on Tuesday and I am told will have to wait 7-10 days for a decision! How I'm going to get through this I do not know!

Can I join in as I'm terrible at waiting and such a worrier, I'm hoping I might get some hand holding :o

    22/1 AIP from broker
    21/2 first viewing
    23/2 second viewing
    24/2 Offer made and accepted
26/2 Mortgage application put in with broker

We are FTB and property is chain free. Expecting a delay as applying to Abbey/Santander so I might end up with a nervous breakdown.

How did you get on? Am in the same position!

Application and documents were submitted by broker last Monday and my understanding is Santander are now up to assessing applications for that date, so yours shouldn't be far behind :j

I haven't been this worried about anything in a long time! I can see why people say house purchasing is stressful! :(

Its awful isn't it? I hate waiting so much, I have convinced myself of every possible negative outcome. The day I get the keys will be the day I'm happy its all going to go through.

Still waiting on mine, had to send proof of deposit yesterday which was scanned in this morning - so another up to 48 hours to process, so should hear back on Thursday :(

    I wish
Porting with natwest they only do paper applications for porting
20/2 filled out application with broker
    4/3 bank statements back
5/3 requested our credit card details as charge £150 if we don't port within 3 months
    6/3 gone to underwriters

Have had to hold off concluding missive on sale of my property been told 3 days with underwriters then 7 days for valuation then another 2 days for final decision. Our purchaser wants to be in 2nd week April. Then to top it all repaid a credit card and closed the account. Got letter this week saying I owed £1. Which I paid immediately, thought account was closed as I checked my online account and it had disappeared. Only to discover today showing on credit file as late payment and will stay on for a month even though it's been paid. Scared this is going to get us declined on mortgage going to phone card company tomorrow as a matter of urgency to try and get it removed. House been on market 2 years. Be gutted if it falls through. Also didn't realise when took out mortgage that porting just meant taking the rate with you. Thought it meant you just got valuation of new property and moved it across. If we get declined going to another lender would mean we have to pay nearly £7k ERC. Feeling like a mortgage prisioner :(

Oh my god you are exactly like me that's what I've been doing! MA told me biggest hurdle was getting the MIP but I still can't stop having a negative feeling. I'd hate to wait this long just to be turned down!
