How long does it usually take to get an offer from Santander once the valuation is done?
Valuation done on the 12th, still waiting!

    Finally getting to post here!
We are home movers looking to get the unicorn that is a 90% mortgage from HSBC. We had our appointment today and now went to under writers.
    Our timescale is:
    01/07 original AIP with Halifax
02/07 view forever home and put in offer (rejected due to not having an offer on current house)
21/07 offer accepted on sale of house
21/07 offer accepted on purchase of forever house
28/07 independent mortgage broker appointment (advised suitable for HSBC but broker currently unable to obtain)
29/07 AIP and appointment booked to apply with HSBC mortgage broker.
14/08 appointment with HSBC goes well and now through to underwriters.

We are a relatively simple case (permanently employed ,working straight through lockdown) so hopefully not too much longer to wait. Asked at the appointment and rough timescale of 10 working days. We are in Scotland so hopefully the home report valuation should be ok or else the wait might be a bit longer.

21/08 we got our mortgage offer!

We had some issues with the online account so we can't see our timeline for the valuation but we got an email this morning from our HSBC mortgage broker to say that it had now gone to offer!

    So relieved!   :)

I keep seeing that people are getting quite quick feedback and offers from Halifax! Mortgage broker also advised them because of their speed but I am at the 3 week mark now today, valuation and everything has been done, but no news! very frustrating!
4 weeks for us yesterday! Broker told us on Wednesday Halifax have reached you to my wife's employer for a reference. She's on mat leave, and has had a pay rise since she's been off so her payslips before mat leave don't match her return to work letter.

They haven't told us how this reference request has been sent however. Or to where! ( She's a nurse for a large nursing home company, so it might have gone to her care home or to head office) hopefully it turns up today as broker thinks this is the last piece of the puzzle!!

We had a desktop version, and it was done on the very day we applied. 12 more working days for actual offer (in line with service levels evident in July).

That's quite a jump... It was 18 days the last time I looked! The 8 day wait for valuation assessments is the bit that has me worried now. My valuation was on Wednesday and report received the same day, but could now be waiting until the end of next week for a decision on it.

To be fair, my valuation was last Tuesday, and then on Monday I got the valuation received and reviewed/approved texts at the same time.

I had the report received text late on Wednesday night, so feels like it's being reviewed 😬

Hopefully it comes back soon! Your application was in two weeks before mine as well. I haven't been hard searched and they haven't asked for any other documents or asked any questions. I'm only on working day 9 🙈

I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse to have the underwriter stage done up-front. I guess it's the same period of silence and uncertainty, just earlier on in the process. Good luck! 😅
