Can I join in as I'm terrible at waiting and such a worrier, I'm hoping I might get some hand holding :o

    22/1 AIP from broker
    21/2 first viewing
    23/2 second viewing
    24/2 Offer made and accepted
26/2 Mortgage application put in with broker

We are FTB and property is chain free. Expecting a delay as applying to Abbey/Santander so I might end up with a nervous breakdown.

Hope yours comes through quicker than ours. Its been good finding this thread, I thought it was taking ages as there was something wrong but seems there is an influx of applications and nothing more sinister than that.

13 days from Valuation!? I was under the impression with Santander they do all the underwriting before they book the valuation so once that's been done it would be quick? :(
  • I accepted an offer on my house on the 10th January. Although I know the searches have been carried out there still hasn't been a valuation!!!!
They are apparently waiting for the mortgage people to do their bit. This seems AGES to wait. Does anyone else agree and have any advice?
    Thanks

I think that is a long time however if buyers have committed to searches, you will be way forward to exchange once valuation is done and this goes to offer, do you know what lender? We offered on 30th Jan and I won't commit to paying for searches until the mortgage has been agreed and valuation instructed so I would say your buyers are pretty serious about going ahead if this is any help? Would be ironic if they are also posting on this thread wondering where the valuation / decision is!

Their mortgage is with the Skipton. I know they had some trouble at the beginning with not having the right ID so their actual mortgage application only went in 2 weeks ago.
Is anyone else with the Skipton? Maybe there is a backlog or something?
Yes, imagine if they were on here too! :rotfl:
