I hope you've notified The Mobile Outlet about your missing bill, otherwise things may get hairy. Use your "Days in lieu" sparingly.
I asked them if under the circumstances they would accept a print out from the O2 website online bill which shows the phone was still connected; nope.
I'd rather not use any days in lieu but what else can you do if you don't have your bill despite chasing O2? (It's a bit different from just not sending your bills when you did have them. You have to laugh at O2 when you contact them to ask for another duplicate to be sent out to arrive within two days as nothing has arrived yet, to be told that you should have it within the week...)
BTW, who do you and Cobra nickname 'Grumpy'?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Hi all,
Cashback claim #2 sent in to the usual address. I tracked it on the Royal Mail website and it was redirected and signed for on Monday.
Here goes the long wait as usual.
I will post as I hear something.0 -
Signed up last week for a 12month free line rental contract with the mobile outlet, and after reading this thread I'm worried! Sounds like a lot of hassle.
Also. One of the comments said that you have to stay connected until you have recieved the last payment. Which would mean more than 12 months... Which defeats the object of going for a free line rental contract in the first place, surely.
Has anyone had any POSITIVE experiences with this company as the comments on here all seem to be from people who haven't recieved cashback etc0 -

I do not recall anyone saying that you have to stay connected until you've received the last payment. If they did, they're mistaken.
Lots of people have had positive experiences, it's just that people only really come to the 'Interweb' when things go wrong.
Good Luck with your new contract(You'll need it). :AWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
GunJack's regular update - cb#3 of 5......day 42....
Today got an e-mail from TMO stating that a cheque has been issued for cb#3 of 5, and would be with me in a couple of days if it wasn't already
This is after my polite chasing e-mail was read by them last friday. Last time this happened the cheque duly turned up in a day or two.....

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
"Add to that the fact that the 45 working days will greatly increase the amount of money that the cashbacks will have under-funded the line rental payments one has to pay in the meantime until some fifteen months after the contract was first taken out and this all looks like very bad news indeed."0

DazzaMc,
Have another read, the part you quoted does not say that you need to be connected until you receive the last payment.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
I have never suggested that you need to remain connected for more than twelve months to get your cashback. You don't. You should call your network immediately after receiving the invoice (usually the eleventh) that bills you in advance for your twelfth month - and give them notice that you want to terminate your contract at the end of the twelfth month. You should then confirm that in writing to the network (not to The Mobile Outlet).
It's as well to wait until you get that eleventh invoice before you do this. If you do it earlier, there may be some indication on the eleventh invoice that you will be terminating the contract after twelve months. You do not want to alert The Mobile Outlet to that fact. The eleventh invoice must look completely normal, in order to ensure that your fourth cashback claim goes smoothly.
What I was pointing out was that even if you do end your contract after twelve months you won't receive the last of your cashback until many weeks later.
(What I don't understand, Saint, is why he posted that partial quote of mine at all.)
