Right, I've checked the website, no mention of a change of address for cashback claims for pre-Aug 2007 orders. Also, the Suite 3-4 address is still in use for customer services manager.....
So, I will continue to use that address for my last two claims, and if they try to say they've lost it.................Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

It was, primarily, to the following item that I was referring.
I sent cash back claim via special delivery. Reportedly arrived on 23/07/07 11:09. However interestingly their mail is being redirected currently. They claim that this is because they are having their Shipley office refurbished. I do hope that is the case...not reassuring is it!
If they aren't using their Shipley office from where are they now operating?
Does anybody know?
They owe a lot of money to a lot of people...

Between what dates, prior to August of this year, do you allege that The Mobile Outlet's posted Terms & Conditions ever stated that cashback would be paid in "5 equal installments" (sic) and upon what evidence of that do you rely?
I have never seen any Terms & Conditions posted by The Mobile Outlet prior to August 2007 that go further than to state that "you have to claim your money back in a five stage process."
In point of fact there has never been anything in The Mobile Outlet's posted Terms & Conditions prior to August 2007 that would actually prevent them legally from making four instalment payments of 1p and paying the rest of the cashback in one large, fifth instalment after twelve months.
It is for that very reason that those who have been receiving instalment payments of one-fifth of their annual line rental would be unwise to complain.
So, from what T&Cs you quoting? And from when?
Thankyou for checking that out Shelby. Of course you are correct.
One would assume from postings on TME that payments from cashbacks from contracts taken out preceeding August should be made in 5 equal installments, when no such mention is made.
The phrase "you have to claim your money back in a five stage process." makes no mention of payments at all. It's only mention of "payment within 28 days" in the terms and conditions that would lead you to assume a payment.
It looks like TMO have listened and realised, contrary to what you say, that they could actually be brought to book over this omission, and have rectified it using the exact phrase found on TME.0 -
Can someone clarify where their claim was redirected to, i.e. what address ??
Just to clarify my post above, I have read the new t&c's and the Suite 3-4 Riverside House address is still given within them, but given as the Customer Services Manager's address.
..mind you, a CS manager at TMO ??......possibly a ficticious address for a ficticious person, maybe??................Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

HI Gunjack,
I was unable to find out where my claim was redirected to. The royal mail portal states "Unfortunately, we are not able to give you this information. Customer confidentiality means that we cannot pass on the forwarding addresses of our customers."0 -

Over the past months, a number of people have posted on these MSE threads that they live within easy range of The Mobile Outlet's office in Shipley and were minded to visit them in person to discover just what sort of outfit it is and (in some cases) to remonstrate with them in person about their problems.
It would be of great help and interest to all on here if anybody who has done so, or is intending to do so, could report what they actually found.
Surely, somebody must have done this by now?
A good few bailiffs certainly have.0 -
Hi all
I received this e-mail fromTMO on 24 July 2007 after chasing them several times regarding my final cashback payment.
Dear Customer,
A payment of £183.75 has been paid via BACS today, this will take between 3-5 working days to clear into your account, sorry for the delay. If you have any further questions regarding the delivery of your handset, please email our customer service team. customerservice@themobileoutlet.co.uk Regards

I have still not received this payment into my bank account, even though I have e-mailed them twice since. The last one I sent was on Friday, and I had the usual automated response to say there may be a delay.
Any advice on what to do now?
Thanks0 -
I've just called tmo to find out which address i need to send my cashback claim to, i was advised to send to the old address 3-4 Riverdale House address as i ordered my phone in May. I was going to send to the new address but didn't want to risk losing my claim.
Any advise??0 -
taz - go with the address in your t&c's - i.e. 3-4 riverdale. Unless they have informed you of a change to your t&c's, this will stand up in court if you have to resort to that. I'm not suggesting it will, but if YOU comply with your t&c's, you are watertight.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
