The Mobile Outlet

I arrived in this evening to be greeted by a lovely cheque from the mobile outlet for £144 , which i will copy tomorrow and put in the bank, i will let you know whether it clears. Just to let everyone know on my MCOL I input the defendant as The Mobile Outlet, and also with their Shipley address, as everything that had been sent so far and in my terms and conditions was that address. Further to my email received yesterday it was only the acknowledgement that they'd received my documents of 4th claim, yet to receive my second email that used to follow close behind accepting, watch this space !! :beer:0

here's my Mobile Outlet story....
ordered a phone off them, a week later it still hadn't been sent, so I found another phone deal and cancelled this one. Later that day, they sent the phone out. Spoke to them, said I didn't want it and the phone got returned straight away. Anyway, T-Mobile started taking money out of my account and I didn't notice for 2 months, by the time £70 had gone. I cancelled the DD, but every month a new bill would arrive. I tried talking to T-Mobile but the needed the Mobile Outlet to cancell it, I couldn't. Obviously, as you all know, getting hold of the MO is a nightmare at best. Got through to the office twice in about 500 attempts. Spoke to the call centre about 10 times (on my works phone bill!) and they are crazy and total liars.
The upshot is, that 4 months later, I my debt (£105) is passed on to a collection agency and I'm being threatened with court action. Enough is enough, I went to Bradford today and spoke to them face to face. It took me 5 minutes to get a cheque (signed, too!) for everything I was owed.
I'd advise anyone to go down thier in person, if at all possible. The office is hard to find at first, but it is directly above Bradford City's club shop, actually part of the stadium. Just look for the shop and you will find it.
some observations about thier call centre
- obviously it's overseas somewhere and everyone has really heavy asian accents, but they all have western names like Steve, Jack and Joe!
- i don't think they are allowed to hang up on you. just keep them talking, it's quite good funny listening to them panic.
- when they want you to hang up, they say the line is broken, when it's perfectly fine. don't hang up, it winds them up.0 -
HI,
I have 3 phones with TMO and I have been waiting since Aug for the 11th & 12 month cashbacks on all 3 phones. I have receievd the confirmation and acceptance emails, and chased by phone many times with promises to be paid within next 3 days, but to no avail.
I am now going to go to their offices myself, but I have a problem!!
I dont know how much I am owed!!
Does anyone know what the last 2 payments should be for months 11 & 12?
We were on the Orange £45 per month contract and from what I recall, the cashbacks were in 5 equal payments of £89, so I think I am owed around £180 for each phone.

Sorry to keep bleating on about cashback! I've worked out that my 1st cashback claim hits 120 days on the 6th of Feb. I notice that the 120 day rule means you have to send your bill right before the next bill is due (i.e I'm always billed on the 10th of the month). Does that mean I sent my Jan or Feb bill?
Also, I notice from the website T&C's that it says that number porting isn't available to o2. I originally ordered a T-mobile package but was told that wasn't available so they offered me the o2 deal. I specifically asked the process for porting my number & said I could do this by getting the phone & then porting my no & cashback would still apply. Have I !!!!!!ed myself?
Thanks in advance!

Hi moneysavingmoocow,
I thought I had answered this question when you posted it earlier...
If 120 days falls on Feb 6th, then your January bill cant show you have been connected for a minimum of 120 days, can it??
Or am I missing something here ???0 -
thanks for your reply.i still don't understand who i am complaining against - is it mobile matters and not the mobile outlet? And how can these people still have an active website when they have put in a proposal to strike off? is it worth the hassle of trying to get money back though. don't know if i can cope with the stress or just put it down to a lesson learned the very hard way. they do owe me a lot of money though.
Not this OLD CHESTNUT again....
Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd is the company, trading as the Mobile Outlet. There is NO proposal to strike off...

12 x 45 = £540
Divided by 5 (equal installments) = £108 per installment per contract...not rocket science is it...
Surely you know what your last installment was???0 -
kltpzyxm,
As I stated, they have been paying me £89 each time, but the first £89 was after 4 months when I had paid £180. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the final 2 payments should be in total, as even I can work out that £45 x 12 = £540, but dived by 5 does not make £89!
I was only asking, dont know why you have to be so rude!!!!!!!

My apologies; I didn't mean to appear rude...
If you are on 12 month free line rental @ £45 per month, then you should get 5 payments of £108 per installment per contract
If you are only getting £89 per installment, then there is a rabbit away somewhere...wouldn't you say?0 -
Hello all, another new member here. I discovered this thread/forum at the weekend. I'm in the same boat with 2 contracts, received 2 cash backs on one and 3 on the other. Both contracts are overdue the remaining cashbacks. I have sent the LBA by post & e-mail - no response received so far. Due to commence MCOL on Wednesday.
I would appreciate further comments from other members in the next couple of days:-

Hi - sorry to be a pest kltpzyxm but judging by the length of this board I want to make sure I've got everything exactly right.
What I meant by the Jan/Feb bill scenario is the following. If my 120 days elapses on February 6th but don't receive my February bill until the 10th of the month then technically I have an odd four days.
Thus do I send my January or February bill? I guess you mean that the date on the bill is at least 120 days eh? In which case I'll send February's. Doubtless they've done this so people are confused!
Anybody had difficulty claiming when they've ported their number?
Thanks for all your help peeps
